There needs to be a balance, we can't have half the game be VAR stopping the play to evaluate replays. I think diving is getting more and more nasty and rewarding every season, so that's worth trying to crack down on regardless.

Complete antithesis to the Brighton ref who absolutely loved a sliding challenge regardless of whether or not the ball was won or the player snapped. Every time Arsenal fell over it was a foul.

Tonali getting his yellow after some of what had gone before was ridiculous, the ball was there to be won and he tried to do so.

Wasn't a particularly dangerous looking break or a deliberate foul, was a horrendous yellow.

Not as shit as the Brighton (h) or Chelsea (a) ref today, but not great either. Very lenient with Arsenal, Partey in particular was warned about three times and never got the card.

Agreed. But Joelinton gave away 4-5 fouls I think and some were pretty blatant and no attempt to play the ball. Got away with a yellow and a ban. So I’ll

let the Tonali one slide.

Joelinton got a fair few fouls called against him when he’d just been stronger than the opponent. It’s a contact sport ffs.

I dunno like. If you want to go back 20 odd years then you might have a point. But they were blatant and always going to get called. Pulled back Saka when he could have started a break and bodied Saliba

I think we are also ignoring Bruno. Who won at least 2 fouls today that were never a foul in a million years

Noticed a few times arsenal player picking the ball up to stop a quick free kick, should be the same principal as kicking it away.

I think they were trying to give the impression “they were in charge”. Clearly they weren’t.

I think they focused too much on this and not enough on playing their game. Same reason they took ages over every set piece, which only wasted their own time.

Absolutely abysmal today that mind. Fart near an Arsenal player. Free kick instantly.

Barring two times where Bruno bought a FK our players had to be pole axed to be given anything.

Continually allowing them to take forever for dead ball situations, yet has the audacity to peep his whistle and tell us to hurry up can get fucked too.

How many times that rapist fouled someone, to be told explicitly from the ref that he was counting and still not get a yellow is a disgrace.

Not to mention whinging at them to retake throw ins from the right place and then subsequently they take them for the exact same place as they did prior the whinge I I do not know.

and don’t get me started when we were breaking on the counter at around 74mins or so, for him to bring the play back and not even book their player. Maddening.

So much of it was just wrong but the Sandro yellow was absurd.

He had barely even been on the pitch, there was no context to his yellow v his multiple points at fouls Partey had made.

Kicked the ball away to be fair to the ref

Blatant push on him and then had a foul called against him, which led to him kicking the ball away.
