What a cunt's trick making that public.

It was. But then again it would be impossible if Cootes hadn't said it to a camera in the first place.

I kept flitting between 'he's off his tits on something' and 'actually he seems pretty lucid'. Maybe that's the AI not quite being up to scratch yet.

Give the lad a promotion either way.

There's something badly wrong with a system that allows officials to be consistently abused by club staff, those club staff knowing that they'll get more decisions from human beings who don't enjoy being consistently abused.

That's what should be being looked at, not some ref calling Klopp a cunt, which he is.

I'm all for refs being allowed to openly call out managers as cunts tbh, give them the power back - if manager pisses them off or steps out of line then they get called out as a cunt and get unfair treatment in the future. Would instantly improve public perception of match officials and would also give Sky pundits an extra thing to analyse

Absolutely gutted for the bloke if anything truly severe comes from it. It's obviously an incredibly poor decision to chat away so candidly to someone holding a camera, but what exactly is the gotcha here? Is PGMOL suddenly not satisfied that he behaves in an impartial and objective manner because he thinks Klopp's a cunt for publicly berating him? Surely not, ffs.

I loathe how much top level football is about referees and officiating these days. However, you do wonder if - in times like these - there'd actually be some value in the likes of PGMOL actually acknowledging that the refs are human beings, rather than admonishing them beyond repair whenever that humanity is revealed.

Loved it when Drysdale (I think) in the Championship had enough of it and squared up to half the Ipswich (I think) team and said something along the lines pf "what did you just fucking say to me? Come on then."

He's not a small lad- they all shat their pants and backed down instantly then made official complaints about it after the match. Remember all the pearl-clutching grom the football media about how out of order it was for a referee to acr like that when players will do it to the ref 15+ times a game without a second thought.

Footballers are proper fannies like- love giving it out but start crying as soon as they're on the receiving end.

Think they need to get an independent panel to determine whether Klopp is a cunt before disciplining the ref. If they say he is a cunt then loads of leniency. If they say he's not a cunt then there's our proof the whole thing is bent.

Liverpool fans need to realise there of 2 types of officials in this regard, ones that have said Klopp is a cunt publicly and ones that are yet to tell everyone they think he’s a cunt.

He’s an arrogant elitist shaft that treats no one with respect. What do you expect?

That's football fans in general too though.

Leeds fans were giving the Milwall keeper dogs abuse all game last week. Look at the state of this post

I remember Clattenburg saying on the pitch that Lallana had become arrogant ever since he got called up for England and Southampton made an official complaint against him

Actually it's even worse than I remembered:

"Saints had claimed in a letter to the referees' governing body, Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL), that during the defeat by Everton on December 29, Clattenburg had told Lallana: "You are very different now, since you've played for England - you never used to be like this.""

Looks like he’s had a good night out  it’s his opinion, it shouldn’t matter a fuck.

Dirty behaviour from whoever has published/sold the videos mind, that’s the real issue here.

It's the great irony here. Of course a pro referee shouldn't be saying what he said, but at the same time he's the one really closest to any sort of objective truth.

Alternative idea: one match each week the ref does a massive line of gear before the start of each half

I think they’ve already started secret trials on every referee lined up to referee us the following Saturday.

Honestly, it’s no different to a shop assistant thinking a certain customer is a prick, going out the back and telling their colleagues, or going home and doing so.

So long as you are professional when dealing with that customer, no one gives a fuck.

He’s entitled to his opinion, he’s made it worse by adding the bit about Klopp being German, which will gain accusations of racism, and the stuff about Liverpool/Scousers, which will bring them on.

If he said this about any other manager, any other club, then it would have been swept under the carpet by now.
