The foul for Benficas pen against Real was very similar to Burn getting hauled down on the corner. Seems like you are just allowed to foul tall people these days. 

It would have 100% been given against us and citing there was "contact"

Wasn't clear. Commentators seemed to think not and he's thrown himself to the ground in an unnatural way for the type of foul. 

 

Was one of those where VAR goes with what the ref saw. Wasn't a clear and obvious one.

 

That's not to say I wouldn't have been screaming for it down the other end!

I think it was clear. Pulling shirt quite hard. Might have thrown himself over but I would be screaming if it was other way around and not given.

If it was so clear it would have been given. Think it was one of those that VAR goes with what the ref gives. It was a short pull of the shirt and he's gone over in a way you dont do over if someone is pulling at you from behind. Agree I'm screaming for it in the other box

So we've accepted now that diving is the requirement for a penalty?  Nothing there was enough to actually stop him from going for the ball.

I know it's not the rule, but if a hand ball stops the ball from going in then it should be a penalty in my opinion.

What is this argument of "but we'd want it".  Yeah I want ever possible penalty.  Doesn't make it actually the right decision.

Nope, I've been fuming multiple times this season at FAR more physical interventions on our players.  Wouldn't be fuming about that at all.

Earlier in the season it seemed impossible to get a handball-pen for anything. Always a excuse not to give it; too close, hands by side, hands in natural position while pushing the opposition player ect ect, and now the last few weeks 🤪 I don’t understand the rules anymore.

 

Next we will get a call while our player has his hands on his back, as it is unnarural 🤪. They just make up the rules as they go along it seems

I heard on the radio last week which I agree with, that players will need to start putting their hands/arms in unnatural positions for penalties not to be given

How anyone thinks that's a pen for the pull is beyond me.  It's a one second or less pull and he dives because the ball is completely gone due to his bad touch.  I know some pens are given for ridiculous shite, but doesn't mean we should start wishing for pens for ridiculous shite.
