NUFC transfer rumours in the press

Recommended Posts

Mind you, Kadar-Hall-Williamson-Khizanishvili would've been a giggle in the Premier League. (i know that back four never lined up, but all those players played in those positions at some point).

Not forgetting Pancrate. :yao:

What a fucking shit league.

For their part, Newcastle are confident that they can finalise a deal for [Anita,] a player they have tracked for a significant period of time.

Manager Alan Pardew remains keen to strengthen his squad before the season begins, although, as yet, he has not lost any of the players who last season took Newcastle to a fifth-place finish in the Premier League.

He hopes to complete the signing of Anita, who can also play at left-back, and achieve a positive outcome in the long-running pursuit of France international Mathieu Debuchy. The 26-year-old remains eager to leave Lille despite attempted blocks on any deal by his current employers.

Newcastle are keen to strengthen their defence with the addition of at least two new defenders by the time the window closes at the end this month.

Anita, Debuchy and Douglas would be the fucking tits if we managed to pull it off somehow.

Still think we'd need one other option upfront after losing best and loven but that's not a major concern.

How cant it be a concern starting a season with 3 strikers?

And the well know factor that two of them could be buggering off halfway through the season for international duty. Could still do with another forward imo even with Adam Campbell progressing through.

I know it easier said than done to bring the right players in and hopefully the club can get some sorted and in place before the window shuts. The very obvious problem with our squad is the one we're facing right now, that when one or two of the big hitter's are doubt's, or injury's occur, the side seems to get decimated.

Obviously that's the same with most teams, it's going to be highlighted even more for us though with the potentially massive season ahead. That's why Anita is an excellent signing to bring in imo, quality player who can play in a few positions. No need to read to much into it really, the manager knows his squad is going to be tested to the absolute limit this season.

Why move Ben Arfa from his role last season though? He was settled and looked comfortable, getting to know his responsabilties whilst getting better and better as the season progressed in a 4-3-3.

Cisse and Ba cant play every game, and as much as we can rely on Shola against the mackems, you cant any other game

And because there's a good chance Senegal won't qualify. And because we have the personnel to play with only one of Ba or Cisse if one got injured. And because of a man named Shola.

Well hopefully they would look at it if the two did go then. Everyone loves Shola, but he tires in games would need someone to alleviate the pressure a tad. He's hardly prolific either.

people can get too caught up in the formations etc, at our best last season i wouldn't call us a 4-3-3, we were very fluid, so much so it was difficuilt to pick out a formation. at our worst we were a very rigid 4-4-2 that was obviously a 4-4-2. also, with a player like ben arfa even the rigid 4-4-2 is more of a 4-3 leaning to the left-1 very much to the right-2.

Pardew this afternoon: 'If we manage to get another (signing), that would be the icing on the cake.'

Debuchy pls.

 being a bit greedy but i wish we would buy a CB/CF too  :(

I think they've decided Williamson/Good/Tavernier/Perch can cover at centre-half.
