Skeletor
Is he the one who was class in the Olympics? Not sure about that, but Mexico has a wealth of very good young talent. I expect them to be a contender in Brazil next year, and a serious challenger in Qatar. I just remember the Mexicans having one centre half that I was very impressed with but I can't remember his name now.
GeordieDazzler
Played all the games in the Olympics according to Wiki
Mole_Toonfan
I'm starting to wonder whether there's any truth to these Van Wolfswinkel rumors not only have 2 papers in Portugal reported on it but Voetbal International are claiming we have interest too..... http://www.vi.nl/nieuws/234644/International-Van-Wolfswinkel-in-beeld-bij-diverse-clubs.htm

captainhaircut
I wouldn't put it past the club to quickly deny the RVW link so it didn't get out. Really weird that Caulkin and Ryder tweeted about it at the same time like the club had actively briefed them. I remember Scott Wilson from the Echo throwing a hissy fit on twitter ages ago because he had the Tiote story a week before it broke elsewhere and the club assured him it was bollocks so he didn't print it! Aye wouldn't surprise me at all, with that said i don't think he's the type of striker we need but lets see.
Skeletor
Was Diego Reyes. I remember now. According to wiki already on his way to Porto in the summer. No doubt he'll end up at Atletico Madrid later in his career then!

The prices for players in January might be less expensive than the Summer when no doubt they will be inflated because of the new TV deal. Gouffran is more of a replacement for Best/Lovenkrands meaning Ba has still not been replaced. Whether MA agrees with this or opens his wallet yet again is another matter. Skeletor
Well if it is true they probably need to save something for old David Craig on deadline day.
sempuki
Apart from being French van Wolfswinkel fits the profile too. IF we got him and Sissoko, surely there would not be much Pardew could do to relegate us. It would take a "special" man indeed.

Mole_Toonfan
The only thing about Van Wolfswinkel i will say is i don't believe he's the type we should be looking at and would be far too expensive for a bench option. Which is why i don't believe it.

Whether MA agrees with this or opens his wallet yet again is another matter. i keep hearing about Gouffran being a replacement for Best/Lovenkrands as if its a fact, why? because he is cheap and not as highly rated? Gouffran is the same time of player as Remy and would play wide of a front 3, he is more than likely the alternative option to Remy. If we had got Remy would people be saying he is the Best/Lovenkands replacement? very much doubt it
Mole_Toonfan
Because Gouffran isn't a Ba level player, while Remy if you get the best out of him is.

Mole_Toonfan
I'd be very surprised if we signed another forward now. Yep, if we can get Sissoko done along with the other two having medicals i think that will be us done.
Cajun
Have a feeling (based on fuck all really) that Gouffran will do better than expected. Someone mentioned the Ba signing before and it feels similar, ie 'he will be a good squad player but we need'. The first few games it will be 'well you get what you pay for, £1.5m wasn't it!?' then he will get to grips and cause real problems.

Aye i think so too, but he's no Ba which is why i think we will get a more high profile forward in the summer. Prove me wrong Yoann but i don't think he's of that level, mind you i thought Ba would be crap so shows what i know
Stifler
Mark Douglas tweeted something about Gouffran being it [the replacement]. gs @gsowerby @MsiDouglas mark in your opinion is Gouffran the new striker or can we expect another?? Mark Douglas Mark Douglas @MsiDouglas @gsowerby Gouffran is the striker... Bit more on this in Journal tomorrow. How the fuck can he expand more on it then that?
