NUFC transfer rumours in the press

Recommended Posts

Rubbish according to the club.

So the website owned by Mike Ashley makes up and publishes a story that is immediately poo-pooed by the club that is also owned by Mike Ashley.

The right arm doesn't know what the left arm is doing.

We're not going down that route are we?

Why would the club have anything to do with some spotty herbert work placement (fresh from graduating from Newcastle Mad dot com) on a subsection of another companies website?

Exactly. Ashley owns a load of stuff, they're hardly going to all check with each other before doing anything.

Sports Direct News produces it's own content. You'd think they writers are under pretty strict instructions about what they can publish about NUFC considering their boss owns the club.

Not suggesting for one minute I believe it, far from it (I think it's trash) but it just seems mental the site would publish such a story and the club would deny it so quickly.

Have the club denied it? Surprised if so.

Anyway, Sports Direct News barely has 'writers' I imagine, and even the ones it does have are probably not under many instructions beyond '4 articles a week' or something like that.

Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley's SportsDirect company website claims that the club are preparing a bid to sign Manchester United's Wayne Rooney

The England striker recently signalled his desire to leave Old Trafford for the second time in three years having been left out of several key games, including United's Champions League defeat to Real Madrid.
