Mick
Obviously we were better off with Llambias in charge. That's not even open to question. That's not to say the bloke's not a complete c***, because he is. It is.
jdckelly
Given the choice of who I would rather represent our club between Lambias or Kinnear I know who I would choose EVERY time. Crazy. they are as bad as each other. Before Penfold got the boot, he was one of the most hated twats at the club, so lets not get all doey eyed for him now because Kinnear is here. they are both cunts of equal measure. Oh hey I agree BUT as I said a choice between the two In a meeting with a Chairman of another club who's player we are looking ro sign I could imagine Lambias to be a lot more professional compared to Kinnear. so would a dog in a suit tbf
Guest bimpy474
Lamenting Llambias should be punished by death, anyone doing that is a fucktard of monumental proportions. The bloke was a total and complete wanker, who we didn't know how nasty he could be. Fuck him.
Skirge
So then would Lambias have got players "over the line" in this transfer window where Kinnear failed or is it all down to Ashley not allowing us to buy? Maybe Lambias walked when he found out what Ashley was planning for this transfer window, Kinnear is so deluded and happy to be getting paid he will do what ever Ashley wants. That's not to say the bloke's not a complete c***, because he is. It is. Give over man, a Premier League club and multi-million pound company not having anybody in charge is a lot worse than having someone who's an arsehole. Why on Earth people insist on comparing him and Kinnear is beyond me. Llambias was the fucking chairman ffs, by saying Kinnear has replaced him all people are doing is giving credence to the pisshead's lunatic ramblings on the radio that Llambias was the "director of football." We've brought in as many first team players this summer as we did last, even if he's on loan.

Mick
Nobody is in charge. We've been told that the MD's responsibilities have been split. Ultimately Ashley is in charge more now than he was before and that's probably why they were all in France together.
TRon
The same people lamenting Llambias' departure now are the same ones who were calling him worse than shit 6 months ago. If he was the answer I'm not sure what the question was.
Disco
Hope those bemoaning us being linked with a raft of strikers deemed not good enough and then celebrating them joining someone else enjoyed Mr. Shola Ameobi's performance this afternoon. I hardly think anyone's lamenting his departure, just pointing out that companies worth hundreds of millions of pounds require somebody to run them. Doesn't seem hugely difficult to grasp as a concept.

We should accept whatever tripe the club try and serve up to us? I agree on some level it's pathetic what we've failed to buy and Bent would have been welcome in many respects, but when you're in a restaurant that's in a competition for michelin stars and they offer the choice of shit or a bowl of piss you have the right to tell them to fuck off and serve you some actual fucking food. Slight exaggeration in that Bent would at least be scoring us much needed goals, but we need a striker who can hold up the ball most and there are more than 2 strikers int eh world that seems news to Kinnear

If he was the answer I'm not sure what the question was. no I wasn't, if anything he was getting better at certain aspects, his media performance was miles better and last one I remember he didn't even say anything outrageous. Sure he was a cunt but so are a lot of people in charge of clubs

That's not to say the bloke's not a complete cunt, because he is. Whatever claptrap JK comes out with he hasn't replaced Lambese, I think that is pretty clear. I have a feeling there is a power vacum right now with people scuttling around for purchase...MA seems to be quite disconnected.
quayside
I thought Llambias was a terrible choice as CEO by Ashley and I blame him for a lot of the turmoil that we went through in the early dark times. I used to shudder every time he made any sort of comment in the press. I thought Ashley could do much better than Lambias. I've posted the words "be careful what you wish for" on here a few times, I need to heed my own advice.

Interpolic
RE: Having a go at forum members... I'd bet 100% of them said what they said because they [wrongfully] believed the club was actively trying to bring in a quality striker or two. Nobody on this forum, or anywhere, would want Shola as out main striker. There's never even been a time. They're idiots either way then.
