Stifler
There's been times where he's literally just been standing offside like, but having better passers in the side will help. I would agree but thats mostly at set pieces, he's as bad as Shola for that.
The College Dropout
Laughable. He often starts offside let's be honest. He often clearly isn't looking across the line to even attempt being onside. C'mon.

Then you clearly haven't watched the beginning of his runs. Yes once he moves into an offside position he is slow at getting back but he is usually onside when he starts his original runs. pi_D
Agree with Stifler here, in the main. Most of the time his runs are good and intelligent
mrmojorisin75
i'd tend to agree with stifler in the main, once our players get used to the idea of being able to pass a football properly again and things like releasing the ball early we might get a lot more out of papiss

Yes once he moves into an offside position he is slow at getting back but he is usually onside when he starts his original runs. It's a two way thing, totally. He scored at least 2 offside goals last season too. The common denominator in him being offside, is himself. The second goal he scored against Metallist, he was fractions offside. Mbiwa crossed the ball fully on the run. It was Cisse's fault. It tends to be his fault.
Ronaldo
Which two were offside last season? Bolton?
simonsays
His problem seems to be he never angles his run, and because he generally starts his run on the shoulder/already beyond the last man he is getting caught offside an awful lot. To say that he is only offside because people aren't passing to him quick enough is nonsense imo.

The College Dropout
Imagine someone saying Pippo Inzaghi was only offside all the time because the players didn't pass it fast enough!

The College Dropout
Oh right, you do think it was moreso the passer than Inzaghi himself? It comes with the terrain with a striker like Cisse. Blaming others won't help.
mrmojorisin75
no, i think no-one said that hence the
The College Dropout
Point being, if a player is offside a lot. It's his fault. People here are blaming the majority of the problem on other players. I brought up Inzaghi to point out how stupid that is.
AyeDubbleYoo
Is he offside any more than would be expected?
The College Dropout
Is he offside any more than would be expected? Of most strikers? Yes. From Fillippo Ade Cisse? No.
Skirge
A lot of strikers try that popping on and offside technique, its tough to get right, ok when it works you end up through on goal but more often than not you will be flagged offside. Cisse seems to like to try it all the time and then that makes it easier for side to step up on him, he was not relying on that so much last season, he was deeper timing his runs or getting shots off early. He is just searching for form and trying to gain any advantage he can over opposition defenders.
The College Dropout
He doesn't try the popping on and offside man. He's just offside.
