Word was he wanted to travel with the squad on pre season but in my eyes refusing to wear he shirt is refusing to play, he can't do one without the other.

Still not sure why he is a hypocrite for handling money that may have one point been in the hands of someone who borrowed from Wonga.

I have doubts about his stance but it is a little weird to judge someone based on their money's previous owners

If he wont touch the shirt why should he touch the money?

You don't see a difference in touching money that might have once belonged to a company and actively advertising and promoting that company?  Really?

Of course I do I just put my personal stance/belief on it. If Cisse can do it why cant I?

The most ironic thing here is this footballer has claimed the morale high ground on Wonga here in the UK will but due to the masses of cash that passes through his hands, will have likely bought or even gambled with notes obtained via the very same loan company at some point

 What an absolutely ludicrous thing to say.

Is Cisse then ludicrous too?

What on Earth is the relevance of whether Cisse has touched money lent out by Wonga?

I don't remember seeing an interview where Cisse explained his problem with Wonga whether it be on religious or moral grounds or if he has a problem with them at all. It's all here-say or gossip or guess work or just down right made up lies. Because it's on the Internet doesn't mean it's true. Why do we all want to jump to conclusions and believe the shit that the papers spout? If Caulkin says he sat down with Cisse and Cisse said the following, well yes I would most likely believe him, but the rest of the wankers,no way.

He's forcing a move, a think it's clear to see that. He probably didn't even know who/what Wonga were until they sponsered us.

So what?  He knows what they are now.  If he wants to force a move, he can force one without this excuse.  Footballers do it every single day.

He looks like the good guy doing it this way though. It's nothing to do with the Catholic/Christian argument either - he proclaims to be a practicing Muslim when he quite clearly isn't. He is using his religion to force a move elsewhere, I've no doubt about that.

He can only force a move if someone wants him. Are you saying he's been tapped up? It might just be he wants a better deal here. It's all guesswork really.

Not so sure now that Hiddink has left but Anzhi were heavily linked.

What are they waiting for then? You would think they'd have put the feelers out by now if that was the case.

He hasn't refused to wear the shirt either, he's refused to carry advertising for Wonga and I don't blame him.

If he won't wear a Wonga logo'd shirt then he won't wear the Newcastle United shirt.

Many factors he has refused to wear the shirt because of them despite every other muslim in the squad doing the opposite. Why can't have my own "belief" here? Whether he stays or goes he wants more wonga imo.

No, if he won't wear a shirt with Wonga on it, he won't wear a shirt with Wonga on it, nothing else.  I'm sure he would wear one without Wonga on it so he's not refusing to wear the shirt at all.

Mick is right, I wouldn't wear a Wonga shirt either, it would be completely immoral to do so. Everybody has their boundaries, their limits, thank fuck we have at least one player with some kind of moral fibre.

Gonna miss Cisse if he goes. Always came across as a genuinely good guy. Hope it isn't as is being said and he just wants out but won't just come out and say it. Wouldn't fit with the way he's conducted himself so far at all.

Cisse is setting himself up for a fall, I bet if you went through all the sponsors of premier league teams you could find a reason not to be associated with them I dont like Wonga one bit, but if Greenpeace or Dr Banardos dont want to sponsor us then just get on with it.

It is worrying this issue hasn't been sorted already. Doesn't look good.

That said, the way our board and officials run the club I expect Cisse is just training as normal still waiting to hear from someone to discuss things. There is no pressing need to do anything at all in pre season as far as the club is concerned.

Why does it have to be a religious issue? Have I missed something? Maybe he's just against Wonga from a moral standpoint.

take a cut in wages and not wear the logo, sponsors like wonga pay his wages so only seems fair

Seems odd to be so fussy about this when he's happy to spend evenings in casinos - a business that ruins lives
