ATB
He had 1 chance today and was (from what I saw) unfairly judged offside when he would have been in 1 on 1 in another. Honestly we just need to forget the first half of the season and start judging players from afresh, and Cisse since the new signings have arrived has looked a better player imo, he needs goals obviously but I don't think he's exactly missing sitter after sitter, he had one header today after he pealed away from the defence, but because he missed his target everyone immediately jumps to call him a knacker, regardless of how difficult the chance actually was. It was happening against Villa and Chelsea too. . good post and how I sees it too. Cisse has played better but is still lacking the outrageous goal scoring form from last season. Ronaldo
He had nobody anywhere near him when Gouffran went off and we went back to the Norwich rubbish. Need Gouffran to be ok and Hatem to come back. Beyond those 2 Obertan is the only player fit for a wide role.
Yorkie
I'm about as forgiving as it gets when it comes to Cisse, but man he was trash today. Basic ball control was nowhere to be seen.

That header from the Colo cross though, he had so much space and time, to not even work the 'keeper is criminal for a top striker.
Mole_Toonfan
I only saw him have one chance all game and it wasn't the easiest of headers either.... Yes he was bad for majority of season but his all round game and performances have improved since Ba left but i do agree some competition wouldn't go a miss. Guest Howaythetoon
He's becoming a very limited player for us if he isn't scoring. We need to upgrade to a better all-rounder in the summer. Mind the service to him has been poor all season, that and playing him wide at times and the constant fucking long ball.
Gallowgate Toon
That wasn't an easy chance at all man, the cross had some pace and was pretty high. Give it up, he's not bang out of form at all, his recent scoring record has been ok and some of performances of late have been much better. There is a middle ground you know. Would make far more sense to just stop pretending Jonas is a adequate player for the wide role. 1 decent cross into the box all game for him, man. Agreed, I like Jonas but work-rate alone is not enough. He is absolutely awful on the ball these days and has been all season long. Keep him as a squad player but remove him from the first-team. He had time and space at one point in the game to put a cross in and he simply passed it into Dawson. How can anyone be so deficient in crossing is beyond me. He isn't even strong these days either, he can barely hold off a player or run with the ball well. He looks shot actually.
The College Dropout
Would still have Demba Ba over him like. IMO he needs to work on coming deep and/or wide to offer more for the team. Like I said, flash Darren Bent. Hope he proves me wrong.
Smal
He is not similar to Darren Bent.

Shearergol
I thought he actually had quite a good game considering. We just need to get players much closer to him.
Skirge
Yeah very isolated at times today, tough in a game like that where we don't create to many chances for him.

Mous was close to him all the time. The balls where knocked too long but had he held it up a bit Mous was there for him no doubt. He only looked isolated because the ball never sticked. Mole_Toonfan
Because he actually participates in the build up unlike Bent and that touch and pass to Gouffran for our 2nd goal last week is something Bent is not capable of. He was good in the first half when we actually played quite close to him, he struggled when there was a massive gap between him and the rest. ( unsurprisingly)

His game is all about getting in behind the defence, movement off the ball and pure finishing with head or feet. Also, like Bent, he seems effective only when played as a lone striker. I don't think they're all that similar, but there certainly are comparisons to be made.

( unsurprisingly) So would it be fair to see he's not an ideal striker in a 451 where we're up against stronger opposition and expecting to be under the cosh quite a bit, seeing as he doesn't seem to be the type of forward who is capable of creating something on his own at all? Wullie
Like Bent could have sent Gouffran clear last week with that wonderful piece of link up play. How embarrassing to see our own supporters making that comparison.

I would agree with that which is why i now agree some quality competition would be nice. I do find these Bent comparisons a bit sickening though.
