Segun Oluwaniyi
We have so many Muslims at this club: Ben Arfa, Sissoko, Yanga-Mbiwa, Abeid, Haidara, Cisse, Marveaux, Tiote. It is very strange that only Cisse seems to have been upset by this. You have to consider that Wonga have sponsored other clubs as well for several seasons. Have none of these teams ever fielded a Muslim player? Maybe Papiss is just more devout and vocal than others, but it is odd, imo.

Skirge
and how wrong there were, seems Tiote is fine with it.. Looks like some papers picked a Toon Muslim player and speculated SHOCK Any quotes? "I will be a Newcastle player next season. I want to play here for many years to come. I have a contract here and I am looking forward already to next season." No Wonga mentioned but not a player looking to leave due to our shirt sponsor

Lush Vlad
Probably missed this being explained a few pages back, but why didn't he have a problem with Virgin Money? Does the Quaran mention typical APR and have a maximum % before it is unacceptable and they kick up a fuss? I find all this very odd if true. This is the same Cisse that frequents Aspers FFS. Seems like he wants away.

TheHoob
every 100 times Cisse is found offside next season the club add a letter from the Wonga sponsor to his shirt. That's a fair compromise. he'll be wearing the full sponsor by the end of September.
Unbelievable
I just think Cisse would put in a transfer request if he wanted to go, rather than go through this nightmare-ish legal/ethical process. What would be the point? If a player wants to leave, he puts in a transfer request (or ask his agent to start pimping him around in the press). I don't know which part of the Islamic ethical code the Wonga deal goes against. What does his gambling have anything to do with anything? How is that exploiting the poor? Well its stupid because he wore a bank sponsor last season... anyway until there are actual quotes from cisse this is probably bullshit That just doesn't hold any water for me. I wouldn't put banks and Wonga in the same category, certainly not from an ethical point of view. If it's on religious ground then they are the same, it's the interest earned regardless of how much. As explained before banks like Virgin money offer no interest loans to muslims. didnt know this, ok well maybe he has a point then, still think its a bit ridiculous, but hopefully there can be a compromise I don't so what product diversification has to do with whether a company is reprehensible or not. If Wonga starts offering saving accounts, would that make them OK for muslims?
AyeDubbleYoo
The correct answer isn't on the poll... Wonga aren't a great company and Cisse is entitled to object. I think he wants out and it's a convenient excuse. Same, Suarez 2.0 if you will. I won't.
