Obviously that completely fucking backfired. His distaste for Wonga is probably a moral concern, rather than a spiritual dilemma. Interpolic Posted July 23, 2013 Share Posted July 23, 2013 I was pissed off when Wonga were announced as sponsor and this standoff is ultimately another consequence of that as far as I'm concerned, no matter what your theory on the situation is. Even if you're on board with the theory that he's being opportunistic and wants away then he'd be gone or on the transfer list by now if it wasn't for that piece-of-shit glorified loanshark. If he's a genuine problem with it then the bad effects are obvious and we're stuck in this stupid situation effectively without a decent goalscorer on the books. Sad times when our great club are defending the reputation and interests of a company like that. Who has defended Wonga? For me its about wanting what is best for the club, ans what is best is Cisse drops this so we can move on. Season starts in a month ffs and this is still hot topic and that is down to Cisse no one else. The club are defending an odious company like Wonga by insisting a player wears the sponsor despite his moral/religious protestations otherwise. We haven't simply jumped into bed with them, we're now in the business of defending their commercial interests and reputation too. Shouldn't have agreed the deal in the first place. Because of that i do what i do, buy nowt with wonga on, for myself or the bairn, thats my choice that effects me and him. Cisse's decision effects the entire club and not in a good way however shit Wonga are, the whole Premiership is full of companies who don't just push the envelope they rip it up and breaks laws at a constant rate without giving a fuck. If you want to remain clean of all this stay away from this league in particular but in all honesty football is corrupt frim the very top, Blatter and the backhander crew and the dodgy WC bids a prime example. Contraceptives are apparently a major no-no for Catholics, but it seems rank and file are happy to ignore it, while still citing their faith on other beliefs. If Wonga didn't lend to people who couldn't pay the money back, they'd likely go out of business. Payday lenders get 50% of their income from fees and charges for late payments, not the interest they make such a big deal about informing peope of upfront.
