Ketsbaia
Surprised that people thought Atletico were comfortable - I thought Athletic dominated that match. 3-0 was really harsh, but ah well.
eliassenfredrik
Athletic dominated? They were absolute garbage in the 1st half. Started to keep possession in the 2nd half but didn't really create big chances. Fairly comfortable win, and well deserved.
TaylorJ_01
Must have felt too much like a league match or something. Bilbao hardly showed up.
Village Idiot
VI what is the story behind Bilbao's colours? Heard different stories. There are lots, to be frank. The one most common over here is that they sent a man to London to buy Blackburn Rovers shirts (the colors they used until then) but didn't find enough of them for the whole team. He went to Southampton to take a ship back to Bilbao and bought Southampton shirts instead, since they had them in sufficient numbers.
Village Idiot
I had Atlético winning this, since they have been finding their form lately while Athletic have found the season too long. Still, wasn't expecting such a comfortable win. Falcao, indeed, has been magnificent for Atlético this season. Him and Adrián have carried them, really. Pity about Athletic, would be a bit of a heartbreaker now if they also lost the Copa final now. Pleased about all the colchoneros taking the p*ss of Real Madrid because of their European trophy tally these past years.
TaylorJ_01
Wait, why is Toquero playing? Because the Atletico defence can't see him. Been thinking about this for a while and I still don't get it if it's a Cena reference you are stretching it quite a bit

Village Idiot
Toquero is a well known John Cena fan, he does the "You can't see me" hand gesture as goal celebration. http://www.blogseitb.com/tododeportes/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/toquero.jpg
Hanshithispantz
And the most ridiculously in-joke of the year award goes to... Drum roll please... Neil. To be fair I would have been really proud of that.

Village Idiot
Toquero is a well known John Cena fan, he does the "You can't see me" hand gesture as goal celebration. Would explain why I haven't seen it much (he scored in the last round I'm sure, but I missed the goal so f*** off) He scores about once every glacial age, so yeah, it's easy to miss. Disco
Be interesting to see if Simeone can build on this next season, he's had a habit of turning to shit in his second season so far in his career.
Village Idiot
To be frank, take away the EL and they haven't good at all, particularly when you look at the squad they have. I know that they go into the last week with a chance of CL football, but they have benefited from the fact that European places have been very competitive this season in La Liga. They will finish with a smaller point tally than last season (in which they would have finished 8th), and that was already a disappointing year. Village Idiot
That said I'd love it if Atlético *finally* started delivering the goods again and consistently became the 3rd-5th biggest team in the league like they supposedly are. Would only make it more entertaining.

MW
Man utd must be kicking themselves about the 6-1. 2-1 and they would be level on gd
Tiresias
Astonishing actually, that performance may well have won man city the league.
Dinho lad
I'm sure Fergie will probably mention the HBA penalty, though.
Neil
Interesting what Ferguson said about the 6-1 - specifically regarding how Man Utd were naive and that at 1-3 down, they should have been a lot more sensible and accept they were likely to be drubbed if they kept going forward as Man City were looking lethal that day. That 6 goal swing in the last 10 minutes looks to have shafted them.
Interpolic
I'm sure Fergie will probably mention the HBA penalty, though. Man Utd's reaction to that incident just goes to show how few big decisions actually go against them, especially at home. Sure I read something last week where one of their players was still going on about it. Get over it FFS. It wasn't a penalty imo, but it wasn't even a cast-iron non-penalty either as there was a case for giving it - I've seen far, far worse decisions given against us over the years and with far, far greater frequency.
