Newcastle, who are chasing a Champions League spot, informed the A-League club via email that the teenager had performed well during the trial. Heart would like to hold on to Good, who performed outstandingly in his debut A-League season, but their resolve will be tested when the Magpies make a bid. Newcastle's offer is likely to be a senior contract, so Good would have a good chance of inclusion in the club's 25-man squad for next season. Heart's football operations manager John Didulica did not want to pre-empt anything, but confirmed the Newcastle correspondence. "Newcastle formally wrote to us, it was nice to hear from them and they were extremely positive about Curtis's time there and him as a persona, and that reflects well on the club and the A-League," Didulica said. Asked whether Heart would be prepared to sell Good to Newcastle, he replied: "Manchester United sold Cristiano Ronaldo so it's a self-evident question."
