Can't argue with such elementary mathematics.

No, he's facepalming the fact that the manager still wants to keep a player that is obviously desperately wants to leave.

This.

As if it was hard to figure out

Can't see where the facepalm fits in anyway. Of course he wants to keep him. He's their best player and a France international. Modric wanted to leave Spurs last summer but Levy didn't sell him and he still had a great season. Maybe Lille wants to do the same with Debuchy.

It's ridiculous. Lille are nowhere near what Spurs are. He's made it clear he wants to leave. It's time they stopped fucking around pretending they're gonna talk him out of it.

So what? They're going to play in the CL next season and wants Debuchy to be a part of that. Pretty sure you would say something else if a Newcastle player was in the same situation.

That's the crux of the issue. Debuchy doesn't want to be part of a few group round games. He wants a new challenge in life and has made it clear he wants to leave.

But he still has a contract and should respect that. How would you react if a bigger club came in for Cabaye and he said in media that he wants to leave ect. Pretty sure you wouldn't be very happy.

I wouldn't be happy but at the same time what's the point of keeping an unhappy player? We'd have a contingency plan if such a thing happened. We're a club who's prepared these days.

Of course, but it's not easy for a club like Lille to replace a France international and probably their best player. I have no problem with the way Lille are doing this. It's what we have said about our club earlier. The the replacement in before selling the player. The only way to do it.

They're not a club that can attract great players and at the same time their best players want to leave. It sucks for them but it's reality.

The last two seasons they have brought in Roux, Payet, Kalou, and Marvin Martin. Honestly, they've replaced their outgoings quite well. It is a very well-run club.

Promising young players yes (except Kalou) but not great players (yet). That's about what they can expect as a club. Buy promising players and develop them.

We certainly run the club in a similar way at the moment, though that's were the similarity ends.

I met the owner of Lille, Michel Seydoux, a couple of years ago. He said (then) that Newcastle were the worst club he had ever dealt with.
