The College Dropout
Think Willo-Mapou might be able to form a Mertesacker-Koscielny like partnership myself. The last time Colo was consistently good was probably around the time Vermaelen was consistently good. Quite similar actually, our lot are nowhere near as intelligent as the Arsenal duo though. Mapou is. I've never seen a defender run away from a ball but I won't start that again. John Terry when we played them. It happens quite often actually even though coaches always say go to the man. You probs don't get to watch any games. I've been to over 100 football matches in the last 5 years. I've never seen a defender run away from a long ball straight down the middle. Kanj
We have 3 promising young LBs, and 1 experienced at his peak RB. No depth for him, naturally...classic stuff. I don't think its too bad a situation tbh. 4 fullbacks, yes 3 are young but 1 has played nearly 150 top level games. Whether or not you rate these players is another matter, but the club has 2 fullbacks and then two pushing them so long as they're fit. Unless you're Man City you don't have 4 of close quality and experience, even Chelsea throw in Bertrand when Cole is out and he's a very ordinary footballer. I rate all of them, and I wasn't being clear with my point. Just a shame that we have exciting prospects in Haidara and Dummett who've slotted in and done a decent job and we are lacking in that young, depth on the right side. I think he could be a tremendous CB (the same way Mapou can) but he seems to only concentrate in bigger games.

Someone questions if I watch games and I had to remind them that I watch them in person. You'd never know tbf... the old cliche "it's a game of opinions" regularly happens even among those I sit with when one can see a player as having been MotM while another screaming for him to be subbed. Pata
It will be Mapou at RB and Colo back in the middle. No matter how well Willy has been doing, Coloccini will be back (rightly so) and this is the perfect opportunity to get him there without dropping anyone. Awww that's cute, you are actually believe there's a possibility of Colo benching Williamson in the next two games.... Nah you underestimate Pardew, Williamson will stay once Debuchy's suspension is done with Mapou who will be dropped.

Guest icemanblue
I love Mole's big man act. It's like someone on Neighbours finally catching up with the person that killed their entire family, but can't swear.
Mole_Toonfan
There's no act or big man for that matter i'm only 5'11 Just saying, its not Williamson who will be dropped it will be Mapou if Pardew's history tells us anything. It's like someone on Neighbours finally catching up with the person that killed their entire family, but can't swear. I'm a lot more agressive and angry in real life, believe me lol. I just don't see the point in getting all pissed off an start swearing on the internet tbh.

AyeDubbleYoo
'Pardew history' has to be one of the most ridiculous concepts going. Somehow it only ever proves the worst case scenario, it's as if the bloke has never made any changes in his life and has picked Taylor/Williamson/Jonas/Shola for every single game ever. KDT
It has some merit though. Jonas is pretty much nailed on to start when fully fit, either Williamson or Taylor would start when fit and Shola is still managing to get starts when other options are available. Tiote, Santon & Sissoko are probably the players currently who have had a prolonged spell of poor form in recentish times who haven't been dropped. Everyone else (except Colo & Krul) gets dropped for poor form.
KDT
Jonas started 34 of 38 league games last season and only missed games due to injury, he's been used as substitute once in the past season and a bit. Even after the last January transfer window he started every league game.
