Mole_Toonfan
'According to Sky Sports NUFC have made a final bid for Mathieu Debuchy which should be accepted. Deal expected by end of week #ffw' Final part sounds promising at least.
AlanSkÃrare
'According to Sky Sports NUFC have made a final bid for Mathieu Debuchy which should be accepted. Deal expected by end of week #ffw' Final part sounds promising at least. But Sky haven't said it's final nor expected to be accepted, have they? Problem is most journalists add their own twists to stories to make them appear more interesting. No point.

Guest Archie
What NUFC think "would be accepted" and what Lille will actually accept are two different things. Heres hoping but Im getting tired already and I fear Lille feel the same.
Ketsbaia
End of the week? Which week? The same week as the last two "end of the week" claims? I'm spending time with Sky Tyne & Wear's video journlists tomorrow and dreaming of a dash to the airport to see Debuchy!
Belfast Mags
Lille are under no obligation to sell him, it's really that simple. I'm thinking about the Modric deal that never was, he was desperate for a move, but Spurs held firm. That's my worry, whether Mathieu would chew his own arm off to get away is no bargaining chip IMO. He's a professional with years to run on his contract and he'll honour that contract in good faith if the deal doesn't come off. I suspect that Lille's thinking on it (or there abouts) Option 1 - Lose him for 8 million Euros (they can "live" with that) Option 2 - Keep the French RB for another season. That's the only two options for them. (This is my worry)

madras
Thing is it doesn't seem as if they are inundated with offers so in another year, a year older they may end up getting nothing. Depends if they want to make something from him before its too late. We could be witnessing a slight sea change in transfers with more realistic prices for , shall we say "mature" players. JB
Surely we've done enough with our recent transfers to show people that we're capable of getting the right deal? Precisely. I've been one of this regime's biggest critics on transfer policy, in the past. However, recent seasons have shown that they're now pretty switched on, and bucking the trend when it comes to overpaying for players. Not once have I worried about this deal. Yes, it's taking longer than we'd all like, but we'll end up with a player we want at a relatively low price. In short, people need to chill the fuck out. Dekka's got this. madras
I meant nothing comparitively as he'll be another year older and at the age where his value will only go down. Clubs now are looking at resale as much as anything else when making deals. That's why he hasn't already moved for more.
Guest Archie
Or another storming season with another CL campaign and int.apps under his belt. Could easily offset the year and even increase his value. No way to know really.
