Mole_Toonfan
De Jong is a typical modern day CF he can play left, right, off the main striker and ofc as a the main striker..... I just doubt he would come here to sit on the bench ( i understand he would play alot due to rotation etc ) but he is wanted by CL clubs and clubs he would start for...... I do see a scenario where we could sign him but only if Ba leaves and only if we plan to start him alongside Ben Arfa and Cisse in a front 3.
ponsaelius
Hazard give over man we could'nt afford to buy him the razor he desperately needs matter about sign him Also i doubt De Jong will come to be simply in the rotation..... either start him on the left as a replacement for Ba(if he leaves) or dont bother because thats the only way it happens. Hazard is unlikely. I said that but if it stays under 20mil we could ya know. Fwiw i think he will go for nearer 30mil to Man U or Spurs should they sell Modric. De Jong i think would come here. He would definitely get a good few games like, never thought he could play on the left. Has he at Twente? Haha. Haha. You paid the SBR foundation yet? Could this not be the planning that should have been done before we lost Carroll? You reckon if Ba stays we wont get another striker and stay with Shola and Best as back up and thats it? Jagten
Hazard is not possible. That is unless you have a spare 30 odd million quid kicking about which you fancy giving to Ashley. Even then we'd get a brand spanking new borehole.

Anderson
I'll be a boring, unoriginal cunt. Debuchy, Douglas, Sigurdsson/Martin. Would rather have either the Ajax lad or the one from Montpellier instead of Douglas, but I think they'll most likely be out of our reach. Line-up as a 4-3-3. Deuce
-----------------------Krul------------------------ Debuchy----S. Taylor----Coloccini-----Santon -----------------------Tiote----------------------- ---------Cabaye-----------------Gutierrez------ Ben Arfa------------Cisse------------A. Johnson Simpson and Guthrie good as gone. Won't be surprised if Ba jumps ship as well. Adam Johnson is likely on his way out of City in the summer. Would be a better natural fit at LW than Ba. Third signing is Douglas, comes off the bench and starts for Taylor every odd match or so.

Wank-tastic. Don't think we will get Hoilett, but we seem to be good at tapping people up early. If we are interested it is a possibility. Hoping the Debucy talk isn't just aimed at forcing Simpson to sign his contract.
ExiledGeordie
I think a new LB/RB plus a centre half (Douglas?) will be definites. And probably a young striker from the continent given that the ACN is happening again. With Marveaux back I can't see that many changes to the midfield but I guess if Guthrie goes they'll bring someone in (Sigurdsson maybe). I can still see one high profile player going this summer but I'm confident they'll plan for that and cover it should it happen.

J7
A good defensive option from the bench (assuming Taylor is fit), someone with pace. Also maybe some extra cover at full back and right midfield. A young promising striker.
themanupstairs
Choose 3 "realistic" signings and put them into your starting 11 and bench. In: Eric Pieters, Luuk De Jong and Diame. Out: Ba, Simpson, Guthrie, Obertan, Gosling and Lovenkrands. ---Krul--- Santon---S.Taylor---Coloccini---Pieters Cabaye---Tiote---Jonas Ben Arfa---------------------------Marveaux ---Cisse--- Subs: Elliott, Perch, Williamson, R.Taylor, Diame, *Vuckic and De Jong. Guest MrSundlofer
It's important to play a 4-3-3 formation next season. Three central midfielders = control of the game and support for the central defence. REALISTIC SIGNINGS First of all we need a big strong central defender capable of scoring goals - Douglas from FC Twente has scored 5 goals in the league this season. We also need a full back and I think Davide Santon will play left back next season, so we will sign a right back - hopefully Mathieu Debuchy from Lille. Finally I want an attacking central midfielder - Marvin Martin from Sochaux, or Benjamin Corgnet from Dijon, but Marvin Martin would be my first choice. Cheick Tioté, Jonás Gutiérrez and Yohan Cabaye can't play all games next season and we need another quality player in there to rotate with them. TIM KRUL MATHIEU DEBUCHY - STEVEN TAYLOR - FABRICIO COLOCCINI - DAVIDE SANTON CHEICK TIOTÉ YOHAN CABAYE - MARVIN MARTIN HATEM BEN ARFA - PAPISS CISSÉ - DEMBA BA I'm a big fan of Jonás Gutiérrez and think he will be an important part of the team next season. Hard to leave him out of the starting eleven. He will probably play 25-35 games anyway. Sylvain Marveaux is an exciting player... But I haven't seen that much of him to put him in the starting eleven. It's good that he can play both on a wing and in central midfield. If we decides to sell Cheick Tioté a good replacement would be - Moussa Sissoko from Toulouse. He plays best as a defensive midfielder, but at Toulouse, Étienne Capoue currently plays in that role so he has played as a central midfielder and been decent. Gallowgate Toon
Surprised at how many want a new midfielder in, Jonas looked very good there and we have Marveaux, who while needing to prove his fitness, has shown he's a good footballer and looks really suited to a 3 man midfield. While I like and certainly wouldn't want to get rid of Ba, i'd sooner be looking to bring someone to challenge him on that side before another midfielder. ponsaelius
Full-back, centre back and versatile forward would be my top targets. Centre mid would be next but don't think we've got the cash, squad signings would do there.

I see Marveaux (if he manages to regain fitness, which is far from certain) more as a wide player in a 4-3-3 than as one of the three central midfielders, where we need a more physical player if you ask me. Also, we could do with more goals from midfield and a dead ball specialist, all of which would be resolved by bringing in Sigurdsson. Besides Ben Arfa and Marveaux we've got Ba (I know), Jonas, Obertan, Ferguson and Sammy for the wide positions, so I'd say we're well stocked there.
