He is fucking shit just like his ginger anonymous partner and part of the massive problem of us not being able to control or dictate a game. Shows how low our standards have dropped when people praise that performance. Never seen such a useless midfield. We will never dominate any games with these two cunts.

One dominant CM to replace Colback and we would stay up quite easily IMO. Anita isn't a problem.

We may get away with it short term but long term he needs replacing. He offers  nothing going forward and I think is to weak to be a genuine ball winning midfielder.  Not disputing he works hard and closers down players.  I just think at this level we need more from a central midfielder.

He was decent 2nd half but the way Everton were just walking through him and Colback as if they weren't there in the 1st half was embarrassing. We desperately need an upgrade on him and Colback if we aspire to be anything other than relegation fodder in this league.

Not defending these two but part of this is due to the tactics - two deep centre mids almost on the toes of the central defenders every fucking game gives the opposition midfield free reign to do as they please in the middle of the park.

Agree with that. Tactics certainly didn't help him or Colback but because they are both poor it means we can't be flexible in the way we play. I've seen many a game where a midfield 2 have completely dominated an opposition midfield 3 but those two are never going to be able to do that. They literally have no physical presence to them either which is important in the PL in those positions.

We didn't start deep, though. We tried to push higher and were getting absolutely torn through. We only looked vaguely competent when the team moved deeper, closer together and tightened gaps. It's obviously hard for a midfield 2 to play against a 3, but especially hard when your two aren't even good in the first place. Central midfield is our absolute achilles, it effects how we defend and attack so much.

The two central midfielders were deep and on the toes of the centre half from the first minute, as they have been almost every game this season.

If Mcclaren absolutely insists on playing them both Anita should be more advanced than Colback, he has the pace to run into space and his passing is far superior, he seems to link up really well with Sissoko going forward, something I've noticed in the last few games.

Problem is that only one of them defending would make us even more shocking than we already are.

This. We can chop and change tactics, play one deeper and one more advanced or put another body in the middle with them but nothing can make up for the fact that neither him or Colback are good enough options at PL level. They get exposed week in week out. We'll never control a football match with both these in the team.

They weren't at all. That's why Everton were finding so many gaps in the first 20. We were playing quite a wide, relatively high shape and they were playing triangles through us with the extra man in the middle with massive ease.

Not true. They picked us off like that a few times when we tried to attack but a lot of the Everton attacks were from their centre mids managing to find passes to their wide men and having time do as they please on the ball as they ran towards our line of 6 - because of the gaping hole between Colback and Anitra and then Perez - that's where the gaping hole was - not between the centre backs and Anita and Colback.
