Dokko
Perch had his moments... Perch has been very good, like. http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,93852.msg4321122.html#msg4321122 http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,92042.msg3619327.html#msg3619327 Krul 6.5 Simpson 7 Williamson 6 Coloccini 7 Perch 9 Guthrie 6 Cabaye 6 Jonas 8.5 Ben Arfa 10 Cisse 9 Ba 8 Santon 6 Shola 7 Ferguson 6.5 I thought Perch played well. You fucking loser. And the other 100 posts where he should be nowhere near the side. tbf...you hated him. Was quite funny reading back. Point stands though, he was decent for a wee while, even his biggest critic had some praise for him

Ronaldo
I'll praise any player I dislike if they've had a good game. I might have even said something vaguely positive about Riviere at some point.
Altamullan
I'll praise any player I dislike if they've had a good game. I might have even said something vaguely positive about Riviere at some point. Bit he'd still score more than Rivière if he was still playing for us. Yep. But Manu seems a smashing young man, with a fine hairstyle and impeccable taste in boots. You're not wrong there Ron... Disco
Yes he was crap. As a central midfielder for 3 years in the Prem - maybe 5 GOOD performances. Danny Guthrie managed as many in one season. Just so often did not do enough. Rank our midfielders over the last 15 years. He's in the bottom half dozen to have played somewhat regularly. No order: Faye Butt Smith Colback He's right there. Pilko
Faye and Smith are by far the worst and there's a yawning chasm from their overall contribution before you get to Butt, Colback etc. Anita is better than those guys anyway. Still poor, but far better.
The College Dropout
Not counting Perch. There's not one midfielder who I would describe as being a decent player for us that Anita was better. You have Barton who at least had a strong patch in the PL. Then You get to your Parkers, Jenas, Emre and Anita nowhere near.
thomas
yeah let's waste precious minutes of our lives sorting turds is it not enough to just say "and the rest" once you get past a certain quality of player and not really care where they objectively rank on the shit pile? edit: whatever floats your boat, obviously. Guest Howaythetoon
That's a very very good signing for Leeds, he is a capable PL player IMO. Wasted at NUFC mind, but a player we should never have touched. That was a shitty summer after the high of finishing 5th!
Doctor Zaius
Butt wasnt actually all that bad. He had two good seasons iirc. Shite first season and shite at the end of his career here clouds people's judgement.

Pilko
He had good seasons? When and where? 2006/07 and the second half of 2007/08.
The College Dropout
Sorry I thought you said Anita had good seasons. Butt's legs went with us in the worst way. Thinking about it I would take his performance levels over Anita's.

Beth
Never good enough. A championship standard full back and nothing more, we are well rid.
Amir_9
What is the point of the "he was OK at times.. but not good enough overall" vs. "He was crap" argument? Either way not good enough for next season, personally would rather have someone else.. hes been here long enough and he has not performed at the level expected at anywhere near consistently. Even in midfield he was a failure in the championshit. Played there in the first two games of the season (which we lost) before Rafa saw sense. I know Colback gets pelters on here but he was not as bad as Anita imo.
