We should probably hold back on our judgement of how many goals he'll get a season. Looks ok as a player. Don't think he'll ever be a success but clearly has some footballing ability and it's always refreshing to see someone that can hold up a ball and do something with it unlike Shola. Let's refrain from judging him, but he'll never be a success.

Lotus
He isn't quick at all which is a shame but then neither was RVN. If he can play with intelligence he could turn out well (here's hoping, anyway).
Gallowgate Toon
Papiss showed a couple of years ago if your movement's good enough pace isn't a necessity. LDJ doesn't seem quick over distance but I think he looks fine in bursts, see that Ameobi chance he set up vs. Chelsea. He seems to have a sharp brain, that's going to really help him - and us - if he keeps things simple. It's nice to hear him sound positive about us. I wish Remy had the same attitude but he's playing it smart, to be fair to him.

KaKa
I still have a good feeling about this guy. Think Remy and Gouffran will make a big difference to his game. Let's see.

alexf
Pretty sure he won't start tonight. Genuinely believe Pardew played him against Chelsea as he didn't expect us to get anything and wanted to give him 90 mins. Shola will start, as in Pardew's eyes he'll be fresh and raring to go. Since I'm pretty sure that Pardew will feel that we won't get anything tonight either, he could easily play De Jong to give him some much needed time on the pitch, especially since we have a 10 day break after this game. What would be the point in playing Shola? Is he going to score the winner?

He loves the guy.

Aye he was one, Keegan was unfortunate Shola failed a medical elsewhere. He wasn't getting rid of Shola that easily. Good effort though.
