Flip
Missed a penalty tonight. Probably didn't reach the six yard area.
Klaus
Top scorer in the Eredivisie now
Dave
Can't imagine how shit defences in that league are.
Fenham Mag
Kezman, Alfonso Alves to name but a few.
Segun Oluwaniyi
Top scorer in the Eredivisie now The top scorer in that division last season was some Icelandic, Finnbogason, who scored ~30 goals in a 34 match league season, then promptly moved to La Liga where has failed to score even once. Ronaldo
League One standard, or is that flattering?
Fenham Mag
Dutch teams have been terrible in the CL over the past decade or so, really shouldn't be considered a top league anymore.
Guest
League One standard, or is that flattering? The big clubs are probably on par with us, Stoke, Palace, etc. The rest, Championship/League One I reckon.
U2
Rough estimate would be lower Championship - if you consider how potent Shola was before injury in our season down there.
ads
In defence of the Eredivisie, for every Afonso Alves, Alfred Finnbogason and Luuk De Jong et al - what about Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Wilfried Bony and Luis Suarez? And more recently Tadic, Pelle, Vertonghen, Eriksen, Mertens, Dost (if recent form is anything to go by...), Janmaat, Strootman. I think a lot of it is down to the individual in question, not necessarily the poor standard of the league. De Jong scored goals at Twente, had his confidence knocked at Monchengladbach and that showed when he was here (let's not forget playing in a shit team under a shit manager). Now he's got his confidence back and is scoring goals. Granted, the competition isn't as strong as as the Premier League but it's a bit daft saying it's League One or Championship standard. Ronaldo
In other words some of the supposedly very good players that escape the Eredivisie are actually good.
ads
You could say the same for any league to be fair. Falcao and Di Maria for instance. Looked bang average in respect of the amounts they've cost.
Kanj
I give Luuk an asterisk bc that team he played in was a sack of dire shit

You've quoted about 8 names going back 3-4 years from a league which has approximately 400 players registered in it in a season.

Yess, against the handful of those who have been considered 'flops' playing here or elsewhere. The point is totally relevant.

Dave
Pretty sure I've seen Riviere kick a football harder than a small child though.
sempuki
Pretty sure I've seen Riviere kick a football harder than a small child though. But in the direction of the goal? Both are nee good but LDJ is arguably less shit.
