Hartlepool United 1 - 5 Newcastle United - 07/08/12 (FT)

Recommended Posts

got back about half an hour ago.  Canny little evening out that.  Amalfitano, Tav & Bigi were impressive.  Gosling was a bit frustrating, holds on to the ball too much.

Shola's injury is a bit of a kick in the knackers.  He was in the centre circle holding on to it, almost waiting to draw the foul, which he did, then got injured.  Had he not fannyed on and just knocked it wide I doubt it would have happened.

Didn't see any bother, was in good spirits.  Didn't realise there were two separate entrances for the terraced bit down the front and the seated area.  Ended up in the seats but had to move to the back of the stand 'cos loads of people decided to sit and I wanted to stand.

People who watch Hartlepool canny often - who is the oldish looking fat bloke?  Plays on the right?  He got some stick from our fans like.

Looking at the starting line-up I can't think who it could be - but Luscombe came on on 75 minutes? He's ex-mackem youth player who has been fat as fuck since he joined. Likes a drink and has pissed away a decent career.

should have said he came on and didn't start.  However he was immediately ripped to shreds.  He did actually have a decent run at Santon at one point.

He was rated higher than Henderson at one stage when he was at the mackems. Just a lazy fuck. He did the skills school thing against him on Soccer Am too.

Some nice goals. Shola was on Ronaldo mode too, I see. The composure for the second goal was lovely.

Really, really fond of Marveaux. Such a relaxed and gifted player IMO. Hope he can stay fit and I think he'll be one of our stars of the season tbh. Curious he took the penalty over Wor Shola. He must be the best penalty taker ever :)

Increasingly excited about Marveaux. Seems as if he's been pretty much our best player during pre-season. Even when he came on against Everton on the final day of last season, there were glimpses of his ability that excited me. When he replaced Obertan against Everton (before his injury) I thought he had deserved it.

Him, Cabaye and Ben Arfa will be capable of some brilliant passing moves this year.

forgot to add that the PA bloke thanked Alan Pardew for sending a strong team out and wished us luck for the forthcoming season at the full-time whistle.  Seemed rather pally and in good spirits.  Would seem theres a link between the two clubs.

If we've got anyone we're prepared to send out on loan it would be worth letting them have first dibs.

Apparently Cooper has had meetings with us, Sunderland and Middlesbrough about that very thing.

As long as we don't send them arseholes like Donaldson.
