Interpolic
We should give the long diagonal ball a go one time. Good God, all game long we did the same thing. In other news, thanks to Alan Pardew for giving my NUFC-supporting life some meaning over the next few weeks, absolutely giddy at getting to the next round. Tiresias
Wish we could show some inventive attacking play, wish we could pass the ball for longer than 3 passes without losing the ball, however having said all that, Anzhi aren't a poor team and we got the job done and over both legs were the better team. We're tough to beat, have a solid defence when some teams struggle to cope with less lenient reffing in games. No yellows for our defence iirc either. nemtizz
To be simplistic we played a very, very good side with a top class manager over two legs, conceded none, scored one and arguably had the better chances in both games. It wasn't remotely pretty but it was effective. We are through and I'm very f***ing happy.
Dr Venkman
The lack of fluency and incisiveness when we have the ball is so acute. I can't believe there isn't a single poster on here who can't see that. Obviously delighted with the result but it wasn't the easiest to watch. Yeah, you're the only one who have noticed that You misunderstood what he's saying.
Guest Dontooner
We won, dont really know how to describe this game. I am still confused to how he wanted us to play in the first half which we were a bit lucky and in the second he play some real English Football putting the team on with "Pressure" and "Spirit". Tachikoma
Meh, this is the sort of performance we were putting in last season. Nothing new and its about as good as it gets with him.
AlanSkÃrare
Pardew for all his faults, it feels bloody good reaching the QFs and going into them knowing Graeme Souness is not our manager this time.
Disco
4 knockout games and no goals conceded. It's not pretty but it sure is effective. Good work old chap.
Gallowgate Toon
Says we went 4-4-2 in the second?
Guest icemanblue
Haters gonna hate. Play it again, Pards.
Jack Flash
Says we went 4-4-2 in the second? Looked like Sissoko was pushed up with Cisse which completely changed the game imo. Still completely lacking in ideas going forward but at least we were actually going forward for the most part.
Ronaldo
His style suits Europe, like. Teams have really struggled to score against us througout the campaign.
AyeDubbleYoo
All I would criticise him for tonight is the speed of our buildup play. Far too slow. Especially after the sending off, if we'd just moved the ball around quickly and decisively we would have inevitably scored. Not sure how much is Pards fault, but I would like him to work on that. Hanshithispantz
Imagine if he went full on Gandalf, for no other season than for the craic. Someone mock up an image of Gandalf Pardew watching Hatem skin Neil Taylor by the touchline.
Nobody
We're looking at a top ten finish this season (we're level on points with Fulham and in good form), as well as at least a quarter final in Europe. Considering the disaster that has been this season, that would be pretty good going tbf.
oldtype
Would be brilliant if he wins us a cup and becomes a legend forever within months of most of us having wanted him sacked.

Hanshithispantz
Aye, as much as I would say a lot of the "in spite of Pardew" stuff has rang true in the league I don't think the same can be said here, IF he does win the Waffa (big IF) it'll be his doing.
