This cant detract from the abysmal season he's been liable to have largely put us through. I hope this game is part of the sharp learning curve he needs to take many lessons from going into next season. (massiveassumptionwearesafe)

His biggest downfall is his stubborn attitude. Yet again we have had to learn the hard way by waiting near a whole season to play proper football just because he was so damn sure his negative tripe would grind out results like last year when we got super lucky most games.

No different starting Ben Arfa, Santon and Marveaux. Desperately needs to stop trying to save face when its blatant he is wrong.

Can't fault his passion though.

I've got the same passion he has as have all  That's not a criticism btw. I agree with what you've just said and its good to see; he got almost everything right today.

made the changes needed to get the win as for Shola sub, who else was there who could get a goal?

Shola for Gouffran???

Shola who didn't do too badly really.

It was still a bad sub though, considering Gouffran isn't playing mid-week and still looked like he had plenty of energy

Are we really that unfit? We won 3 games in injury time over the last month or so. Winning matches right at the end and fitness levels very closely related imo.

Credit to Pardew to set the team up finally to attack , tbh his 4-4-2 setups are has far more pattern in its play. We should revert back to it if its the type of football he plays.

Still a below average manager

Beautiful scenes after the goal. Deserves kudos for actually setting us up properly for the second game in a row. Maybe he might convince himself we can win playing proper football instead of negative grind.

Wasn't convinced by the subs at all, if anything they nearly cost us the game. Nice to see Adam get a run out. More of the same please Alan.

The way you're going on we played some scintillating stuff at times which we certainly didn't. We got the three points which at this stage of the season is very much needed but don't try and gloss over the fact it we weren't exactly brilliant today.

I agree. Improved performance from the turgid stuff we've seen all year but it had to be. Still no real urgency until the end of the game and limited showing in terms of attacking play (lack of movement/not enough players going forward and supporting play still being our most obvious weaknesses).

One dodgy change (Shola) that turned out ok in hindsight, one good positive sub. We were obviously flagging the last 20 minutes but we kept at them and looked solid enough. Can't complain at all with 4 first teamers out and losing Santon early.

Shows to a certain degree that this injuries stuff is smoke and mirrors.

You can't knock Pardew's passion for football. Really enjoyed him jumping into the crowd

Today was a more attacking minded approach than usual from him mind which was refreshing to see. Yes, we struggled to convert our chances but we kept going and going. If only we played like this every week...

Performances will only grow in confidence and get more fluid. IF we still to playing like football should be played. Hardly a surprise we looked rusty considering it has been so long playing negatively and hoofing. Still so much to work on though. Set pieces might be a start.

Also hard to determine whether it was a very sub par Fulham performance or if we really did control the game through intent. We certainly wanted it more than normal today. We looked good against Benfica in the first half because they didnt close us down. The likes of Sissoko, Guti and Marv were actually creating and running through players today in spite of opposition closing down which was good to see.

I'm so relieved he realised the necessity to win this game.

Yup, and you can tell by his celebration, which although probably a bit deliberately OTT, that it was a really vital win as well.

Yeah, setting up with a positive mindset (we had to win really so he was forced into it) and we look decent and were unlucky not to score at least another. A couple of additions with the continuation of that mindset and we could be a real force. We can only hope he sees this.

Lucky boy Pardew today. It was pretty poor again.

Poor, unlucky your choice.

Tbf to Pardew, did not do much wrong today, we could simply not score until 93 min.

I do not like Pardew as a manager, but today i will not criticize him.

Maybe just for the Shola sub, just a little bit for that yeah.

Played okay today IMO, another day it would have been far more comfortable. Went for the win and eventually got it, and we were deserved winners too.

Loved that reaction like.
