I'm so looking forward to this game. Dreamt that I missed the game but we had won 2-1. Was so relieved that we had won, that I wasn't too bothered about missing it :cheesy: That probably sums up pretty well how I feel about this game, very nervous!

Hopefully we get Colo, Krul and Saylor back, Fletcher doesn't seem to need alot of chances at the moment.

It'll be a big day for both my teams. After the mackem game my danish team Brondby will play FC Copenhagen away, a game I'm attending. It might be painful to watch though. We are currently rock bottom having won only 1 out of 12 games and they are cruising in 1. place.

2 derbies in 1 day! I'll probably need a pint or two to calm my nerves :D

Considering the distance they'll have to walk us, the police will likely only be doing one escort from St Peters. If you get there too early, my guess is that you'll be held at St Peters until the last Metro arrives.

I doubt it, it's only 100 yards or so further than last year. Too much of a risk to leave hundreds of mags there like sitting ducks.

Whatever they do, it's going to be more hostile than normal. Previously the only flash point was when you're getting off at St Peters and they are all walking past the station down below.

Last time out, some kid got up on the barrier to shout and an elderly copper full on hit him with a leather gloved fist to the back of the head. Fucking shameful, I wish I'd took the tosser's shoulder number.

To a degree I think this game suits us more. From what I've seen from Sunderland this season they like too nip and goal and defend for their lives. At home against us they would be expected to attack from the off (From the fans). I think this may suit us. I still fancy it to be 1-1 or 2-1 to us. Counter attacking football like WBA would be amazing.

I get your point, but I struggle to remember a time this season where we have invited teams onto us with the idea of hitting them on the break. If we invite teams onto us then we're asking for big trouble. We shouldn't play with fear, we can hurt them more than can hurt us.

Ah, it's half the fun man.  The entire journey there makes you feel like a child murderer on your way to court.

Pards in the Chronicle talking about how it is important not to start slowly. It's all very well him saying it, but he actually has to get the tactics right from the start for this to happen. I hope he does, but it is far from certain.

Pardew talks a fantastic game, doesn't he? Often a tad too much for my liking though and, rather unhelpfully, it's probably his best strength as a manager.

Exactly, I hang off every word he says, but i'd much prefer it if he talked a bit less and actually put out a side that plays to our strengths from the off a bit more frequently.
