Skeletor
Sad for Haidara, but a Geordie coming through the ranks and starting to look a real player can not be overlooked. Even if Dummett is not a world beater, there is the incontrovertible truth that he can in the future become a homegrown player, which will reduce the future need to have to sign an English player at an English premium. Haidara is too old for this. So if both are to have a Newcastle career, they are going to have to shift Santon, either becoming better than him, or by showing us its time to cash in on Santon, or by Santon getting moved to a new position. In fact, the most obvious player to remove and cash in on in a year or so could be Debuchy. But if Santon isn't shifted, Dummett has won. Rich
Seems to be fit again, judging by his Twitter. Suppose he's fallen behind Dummett in the pecking order now, though.
LRD
Is this guy injured or something? Don't think he has been involved in pre-season and all the matches so far. Not even among the subs today.
Chris_R
Dead, iirc. To Pardew at least.

themanupstairs
Where's this lad then? Despite his age he looks a proper player in the making.

Unbelievable
He's been back in training for a week apparently, going by this article from 21st of September: http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/massadio-haidara-ready-challenge-first-6073043 We've gone from having years of no left back cover to 3 decent options. Shame they're all still learning and prone to make mistakes, but we appear to be well stocked there for years to come at least.
Kanji
deep down I wish Dummett was a right back so he and 'Sadio could be our cover for RB and LB and really push Debuchy and Santon.

alexf
Was our left back in the liverpool horror show remember so lets not assume he'd make a huge difference.
Guest Roger Kint
Was our left back in the liverpool horror show remember so lets not assume he'd make a huge difference. Also HAULED OFF against WBA. Good that he is in training though, would be a better option at LW than Jonas when the inevitable happens
Guest reefatoon
Give the lad a little stint on loan in the lower leagues, worked a charm for Olivier Bernard when we sent him to Darlington for a bit.

Hughesy
Give the lad a little stint on loan in the lower leagues, worked a charm for Olivier Bernard when we sent him to Darlington for a bit. Don't see why we would send him to the lower leagues. He is far better than Bernard was at the point that he went to Darlington.

Assuming the loan window is still open?
The College Dropout
A year in the Championship did Colo the world of good. Sure it could benefit Haidara too.

Dan Gleebals
If we are to play four across the middle, he would be my preferred player on the left over Jonas etc. Shows how limited our squad is in places. At least he is quick, can get past a player, cross a ball and even defend!

Do we have the squad depth to allow a loan like that? Not this season but next season we should keep Ferguson here and offer them Haidara. Maybe a 1-3 month loan with a recall option would work now though?

Colo would have been the same player whether he went in the Championship or not IMO. He just needed some experience in English football.

Maybe a 1-3 month loan with a recall option would work now though? Agree, but maybe we could do 1/2 season loans with option to recall should we have any injury scares? I think that's a great idea though, bring Ferguson back who should be better equipped for first team and let Haidara go get some matches under his belt. I was very excited by him, still am, but the emergence of Dummett has sort of nullified that. I really want Dummett to become a future international LB and I want him to be our starting man. Nothing against Davide or Sadio.
