Eddy Chibas Posted August 15, 2013 Share Posted August 15, 2013 Very impressed with his movement, for goals1 & 2. When he attacks the box, the off-the-ball runs aren't just straight lines. That's a nightmare for backpeddling defenders, as they mind their zones (tracking off-the-ball runs, from deep). That's the signature team movement, of how Dortmund run the channels & ultimately flood the box, when they stream forward. Goal no.2 was a great example - not alot of room (vertically) to burst away from the nearest defender, if he runs a straight line, but the variation of the run buys him some space to play with as the through ball is layed on & from there it's a regulation finish with fuck-all defensive nuisance applied. Shades of Gotse about that goal.A certain percentage of that goal was calmness in front of goal, most of it was f***ing good coaching/the assimilatiion of the kid into Dortmund's forward flood. Excellent vision & awareness, to momentarily check his run & spring the line, for his 3rd. So he's got a brain to go with his quickness & skill - way above Pardew's station/coaching. Guest frazernufc Posted August 15, 2013 Share Posted August 15, 2013 Remember having odds on him of 33/1 to be African cup of nations top goalscorer the other year (purely because he was quality for me on fifa) dont think anybody had actually heard of him at that point, he came joint top with 3 and he missed a penalty in the game Gabon got knocked out.
