Hanshithispantz
A couple of the running lines in the Asprilla goals seem to be the wrong way around? Providing the rules are on the ball = dashes, off the ball = dots.

Guest
A tongue in cheek one of the Hurst goal in 66 where you have the ball about a yard over the line would probably be popular.

AyeDubbleYoo
I think it's a mistake to add the game and the scoreline, it was better with just the goalscorer and goal time. Then there's a bit of insider knowledge about them, you can see if people know where the goal is from, you can explain it to them etc. I would keep it as simple as possible with the text. Agree completely with Ian here. Could be the real "quirk" that always comes with successful marketing. "Less is more" type of thing.

I disagree with this. These goals are memorable events and having the score and date provides context of the day. Makes it more memorable. By the way if this hits big time, you might want to consider filing some sort of patent or intellectual property protection. Otherwise some fucker will just copy your idea. The creation celebrates the goal though. That in itself is a memorable event. Some great or significant goals have been scored by teams who ended up on the losing end as well. Maybe PR can give you the choice of having the whole match commemorated. Agree with the second part. Get on it pronto mate.
themanupstairs
I'd love me a copy of the Van Basten winner against the USSR in '88. When will you start taking orders in gb? What's your pricing like etc.? Loving this thread at the moment

Stifler
Any of the times a goalkeeper has scored. Glass for Carlisle? Maybe you should get on touch with the back page about selling some T-shirts, I'm sure the orders would fly in with them.

I like the original simplicity of the design and the concept that to the people it means something to they will know the score and scorer. I think there is a balance to be found and hopefully I'll find it... To be honest I've been surprised by the response and it's caught me a little off guard, and I haven't even launched to concept to an audience wider than NO yet! Guest firetotheworks
It's an obvious one, but if you could do the Carlos Alberto goal against Italy without it looking like spaghetti junction ('hahahahahahahaha') then I think that would be excellent. Great idea this, but might want to follow the advice in the above post as a priority. Also, since you're looking to commercialise this, you might want to check that you are not breaching someone else's IP. I know Codemasters had the Sensible Soccer brand, and I can't imagine they would be happy someone else making cash out of this. Having said that, they might have just bought the name rights, not whatever intellectual property exists in the original graphics for example. It would still rest with someone though, maybe Jon Hare and the original guys at Sensible. It is not a foregone conclusion that they could prevent this (you are not after all releasing a computer game with the same graphics), but as soon as you start making money from something you will find that the owners of the IP will start taking a bit of interest in this. Might be worth just checking this point with someone before you spend a load of your own time and money on it.
