The slight knock picked up by Hatem Ben Arfa in Russia looks to have cost #nufc today. Not likely to be involved v #scfc Not serious though.

Took him quite a while to read the daily mail (or the forum).

Indeed, wouldn't be shocked if he was starting.

If true, then what on fucking earth was Pardew thinking.  But its Ryder, so probably fine :)

It did seem a very strange game to bring him back for but you'd hope it's just a knock and nothing serious.  If it's a similar setback to the Fulham one then people are justified to start going mad and asking questions.  We know nowt yet though, he might be starting.

If he hadn't played on Thursday people would be moaning about "how the fuck is he going to get fit if he isn't playing games!?" now he played and picked up a knock it's still Pardew's fault.

Can't win

I definitely wouldn't have moaned if he hadn't played on thursday. Let's just hope it's a small knock though.

No they'd be expecting him to play on a normal pitch in this country for 10-20 minutes to gain fitness.  Not 60 minutes thousands of miles away on a pitch Pardew himself said could cause injuries.

With some he can't lose either.

It's funny because when the teams were confirmed on Thursday I seem to remember more joy at the inclusion of Ben Arfa than anger :dontknow:

I would like to think we are still capable of beating stoke if Ben Arfa doesn't play like  no need to play him if there is a slight risk of him getting injured further

Of course we don't neen Ben Arfa to have a great chance of beating Stoke, not the point really.  Him getting 20 minutes or so against this lot today could have put him much closer to full fitness.  Nobody wants him to play today if he's got a knock, its how he got that knock that people are questioning.
