Bit cuntish of the club.

Basically trying to ensure that only club-approved news is printed. Arseholes. Really hate that kind of behaviour. Even if the Edwards article is completely made up, why can't the players or the club just refute it publicly? They'll claim they shouldn't have to respond to every inaccurate news story, and to an extent that's fair, but this is too far the other way. Whether there's a split or not is a matter of opinion, I doubt the club can prove there isn't and I doubt Edwards can prove there is.

Maybe they should go with a massive article on how Pardew's negative, boring tactics are abhorent, ineffective and cowardly? Refute that one, NUFC.

Fergie and man utd has been doing this type of thing for years.

They've also been winning championships for years.

The figures are made up, so it means nothing. Norwich's squad is less valuable than ours? Amazing.

just trying to see a rough idea of how much our club can recoup once we go down thats all.

Try halfing it and it'll be more accurate still be a load of meaningless bollocks.

Newcastle's players today said they are 100 per cent united in their bid to ensure Premier League survival - and reacted angrily to false rumours of disharmony within the squad.

Senior players admitted they are hurting over recent results but strongly dismissed any suggestion of a rift within the dressing room.

Papiss Cisse said: "Every player is together. We are totally focussed on Saturday's game at West Ham and the two games after that. We have a strong bond and we want the best for our Club, our manager and our wonderful fans.

"We are not happy about recent results. Nobody is happy when they lose, but this has only made us stronger as a group and we will come through this together. There is no divide in the team."

The players insist that all members of the squad - including recent signings who arrived in January - are determined to turn things around.

"We want to let the fans know that all of the players are committed and we are in this together," said midfielder Cheick Tiote.

"We will fight to get out of this problem and we know our fans will help us to do that. They are incredible."

Newcastle United managing director Derek Llambias said: "The Club is determined to turn things around and everyone is working together to secure that goal. It is not helpful when people try and distract the team and the manager with false rumours."

The Magpies travel to West Ham on Saturday, followed by QPR the weekend after, before returning to St. James' Park for the final game of the season against Arsenal on Sunday, 19th May.

To be fair it wasn't three weeks ago players were out on their feet fighting for the win against Fulham. I've no doubt there's been some soul searching in the wake of the Sunderland and Liverpool games and there probably has been some few home truths voiced, but I certainly don't believe the talk of some huge split dividing the camp.

Talk is cheap.

Neither the current playing or club captain are there adding weight to such PR guff. Surprise surprise.

Depressingly easy to believe that they're all protesting too much. As you and others say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. They didn't look like they were fighting much at the weekend when they gave up on a home match after less than 20mins.

We just need to win a match, regroup and put this shitstorm of a season behind us.

They're hardly gonna come out and say "yep it's all gone to shit, everyone knows Pardew is shit and no one wants to play for him but we think its best we stick with the useless gimp until the end of the season. With any luck we'll stay up and most of the players won't leave us in the summer"

However it could be the truth, we'll only find out once/if Pardew gets canned and the gagging order is removed from our players.

No quotes from those sneaky, divisive frenchies.

 Or the club captain. Or vice captain (although he is also a sneaky frog so that would explain it)

Or Ben Arfa, who was no doubt too busy pumping iron in nothing but a pair of PSG budgie smugglers to comment.
