To that end, you were in the south of France earlier this week. Is there any progress on players coming in from that part of the world?

“No, I think the situation while I was there was to see the owner and get together, to make sure we’ve got ourselves with a game-plan going towards the final week of window. That’s what we did.”

So it was a meeting with the top brass to chew over where you are?

“Absolutely.”

Team news?

“We’re kind of patching ourselves up a little bit from Monday. First game you don’t really want to go down to 10 men with 45 minutes to go. Some of our players have worked a little bit harder than they should have, so we’ve got a couple of tired bodies. Cheik (Tiote) has got a slight strain, so we’re a little bit worried about him and Jonas (Gutierrez) will definitely be out. Everybody else should be okay.”

1 game played and he's already talking about tired bodies.

Well said Pards. Roll on Saturday to put the smile on our faces leaving the ground with 3 points.

Must be a troll.

There is absolutely no need for this crap.

Positive excited attitude = a troll....  :undecided:

Each to their own but i can't agree with Pardew's words personally.

Aye well just say that rather than coming out with s**** things like 'must be a troll', f***ing sick of it, all you get on here for having a positive approach or having faith in players is 'WUM'...'Troll' ‘Retard’, happens daily on here. Can't a few of us just look forward to the game on Saturday fancying a win without being lynched every time we post something positive? Getting beyond a joke!

A scrappy,  jammy as f*** being on the back foot for 90 minutes, having one deflected shot at goal which goes through the legs of their injured substitute goalkeeper to give us a thoroughly undeserved 1-0 victory against a hard done to 8 man West Ham team ravaged by injury and unbelievably harsh sendings off would probably appease you Brett. It's all to do with result for you and not being able to see the big picture.

I actually think we'll beat them Saturday but I'm not expecting decent entertainment or attractive football to achieve it.

I bet you never seen an unhappy Fulham fan travelling back to London?

Can't say I've ever seen any kind of Fulham fan tbh. I know they play far better football than we do.

EDIT: Not really sure, if there is one, what your point is here?

My point is they travelled from London, watched there side be completely outplayed by Sunderland, have the least amount of touches in the opposition box and least amount of shots out anyone in the league over the weekend. Yet they still travelled back with 3 points in the boot all the way back to London and that's all that matters at the end of the day the fact they won the game.

OK, let's take them at their word - They have a gameplan for the end of the transfer window and we should judge them after Fulham and West Ham.

Let's revisit that on the 3rd of September.

And we just know whats going to happen, don't we ?

It worked for him last year with many people amazingly buying the "Europa league was cause of our bad season" - despite it not affecting other clubs who've been in Europa league.

Thing is, the players used it as an excuse for underperforming too - so it worked last time (how ?) so he'll no doubt use the same again. Maybe we should call him The Excuseinator ?

Last season Pardew said Judge me after 10 games it's the same script over and over.

I do think we have worked on our passing a little. We were playing some decent triangles at 1-0 down, good movement in midfield. Didnt last long like as 2-0 seemed to knock the stuffing out of us & they started having strops. Be good though if we saw more of that, theyre capable if they stay confident.

His point and correct me if im wrong Brett is:

We should be satisfied with a underserved 3 points away from home against clubs with a similar stature to us regardless of how it's obtained.

They had the same amount of shots as we did but obviously they dug in and prevented the opposition from scoring, that's how they won. Our lot didn't want to even touch the shovel handle on Monday night. It was the same bend over and get it over with attitude we showed at the Etihad at the end of last season. No change whatsoever.

If Cisse fancies flicking one over his head and volleying into the onion bag in the 90th minute for a 1-0 win, i will quite happily say thank you very much for the 3 points Pappis and move on to the next game being happy we've got points on the board. A win is a win.

I'll go one better and say I'll take any kind of win or even an encouraging performance where we create some chances and are unlucky not to get the result. What I won't keep accepting is sterile, defensive football where we barely test the keeper and spend most of the game in our own half.

Away from home it is. Depending on the opposition also. Not at home to West Ham it wouldn't be. The 3 points from a shite performance craic at home is not only missing the big picture, it's missing the gallery the big picture is housed in.

Tired bodies. He'll probably try and say we had a mid-week game if we lose on Saturday, just because we didn't play at the weekend. Speaking of mid-week games, Morecambe is a cracking excuse should be lose to Fulham. Those damn cups are a nuisance.

So i'm now not the only one being appeased when it comes to the 3 points being the most important thing on Saturday regardless of how it comes, glad i got around to proving my point.

What it proves is you'll accept any old shite as long as 3 points is at the end. Not quite grasping that you are far more likely to win a match if you have a bit of style and good tactics rather than hope the opposition either are shitter than you or care less than we do about winning a game.

Exactly what we've been doing for a season and the reason we finished 16th. And will get relegated if we continue to do the same.

We play with fear as the manager sends them out to protect clean sheets and the lead if ever we do get it. I can't see a player who is enjoying their football, it's all so sterile and defensive like an army drill. Everyone to their stations and dig in. No freedom, no creativity, it's all stifled out of them.

Of course it is, and that Brett, seeing as you haven't been able to see it, is the big picture.
