RIP Joe Kinnear (1946–2024)

The newly-appointed director of football will spend his time travelling with the first-team squad and be on hand to advise Mike Ashley on his take on where the Magpies are going wrong.

Surely this must be some kind of attempt to piss Pardew off, he's going to be second guessing himself constantly.

remember the days when we just had pardew in charge? bliss

Joe Kinnear will give Mike Ashley his take on what went wrong

17 Jun 2013

On a day which stunned the football world Newcastle’s new director of football reveals blueprint for the job

That reads and sounds very sensible and exactly what we need. But it's JFK doing it :(

He mentioned the French players but in a positive light, and only said its a shame about their injuries.

Tbf even Kinnear isn't stupid enough to think Cabaye etc etc are not good enough.

Well he was stupid enough to think Enrique wasn't good enough so I don't see why not.

A lot on here didnt take to Enrique till the championship season, just like colo.

I rated him as soon as I saw him, and there were a fair few others here who did as well.

Yes, I also rated Enrique the first time I saw him Tron - I knew we were right as soon as I heard this clown Kinnear say he didn't rate him.

I also didn't rate Kinnear as a manager the first time I saw one of his teams play...I knew I was right about him too....

The above all look professional, knowledgeable and almost as if you would expect them to work as a Director of Football.

This man looks like second-hand car salesman with racist tendencies and a penchant for avoiding the taxman.

If they bin Pardew (and they will probably have to), Joe (manager in waiting) is there to step into the breach.

:suicide:

Well everyone always harps on about how we want to bring in replacements BEFORE we get rid, nee pleasing some people.

f*** off Kinnear, c*** head Kinnear, I just don't think you understand.

That if you stay here, f*** face Kinnear, you'll have another riot on your hands.

Have I missed a riot, like?  :D

Even by Ashley's standards this is a move that is beyond weird.

Just a thought....Llambias handles the press releases. The fact that the club have said nothing so far does make me wonder if he is as gobsmacked as the rest of us by this. The "job description" put forward by JFK does seem to include things that Llambias has been responsible for. Also the press seem pretty convinced that this has Ashley fingerprints on it and not those of Llambias. Has Ashley just shafted both Pardew and Llambias?

Edit: Have just read JFK's comments in the Chronicle and, unless he is totally in fantasy land, it would seem that Llambias is fully on board with his appointment, so scrub most of what I said above
