Tiresias
At this point I'd think fair play, they went for it wish we would. I enjoy mocking them losing everything, but can't stand city either, and indeed we have some in common about being repeatedly screwed over by awful management of the club

LucaAltieri
As a club I see nothing wrong with Sunderland. It's the fucking fans. For a team still nailed on for relegation they're a bunch of cocky fuckers. Hope they get the spanking they deserve.
Guest Howaythetoon
What I can't abide is the arseholes who haven't been to the SoL for years in protest at Murray/Bruce/Wilkinson et al who have suddenly become the biggest fans of their team in the world again. Suddenly, after having not stepped foot in the SoL for f***ing years, are "going to Wembley" and now appear to be bragging about their team winning trophies, qualifying for Europe and playing in Cup Finals. It may appear as glory hunting, but howay, the vast majority of mackem fans just like ourselves will have earned their stripes so to speak and therefore deserves to see their club lift a trophy, no?! If you support NUFC or the mackems its mainly been decades of shit followed by the odd decent but ultimately unsuccessful spell. Some choose to go to every game come what may, some choose to go to certain games and some chose to go to no games in protest, that shouldn't exclude any genuine fan from seeing and cheering their team on in a major final, however, be it in person, via TV or whatever. If NUFC got to the FA Cup Final I know I'd be able to get a ticket, even though I've not attended a game in over a year. Does that make me undeserving of seeing my club in a major final? Does that make me invalid RE final tickets etc? Fuck you, I love this club as much as anyone, and I, along with everyone and anyone, deserve to bear witness to success with our club and for the mackems, do you know what, the deserve it. Unlike the prick who manages us, I'm jealous as fuck to be honest.

hithere
Got absolutely no problem with the genuine Sunderland fans going to Wembley and cheering their team on just like they have done for years. I hope they get dicked but can't begrudge them the fact they're there and they've knocked out Chelsea, Man U and Southampton in the process. The sensible, genuine fans who've stuck by their team I can live with. Genuine Sunderland fans getting a Wembley ticket? Fair play. Hope they lose but fair play none the less. These c***s? Get f***ed. Created division between our own fans this has. I agree with you to an extent. Those who go each week and paid for season tickets absolutely get first dibs. No questions. The fans who have to choose games due to work, location, other commitments then if they get their hands on a ticket fair play. Over the last few weeks I've developed a great dislike for some of the people who haven't been to a game in years but are going to this. Not even as if they used to go regular then stopped in protest. I'm talking about individuals who couldn't successfully name five of our first eleven. For instance two lasses at my work who I heard talking about their trip to Wembley and the mass drinking they'll do on the day etc. Seeing genuine fans scratch around for tickets and pay extortionate prices for one while people like this have them fall in their lap because they know someone who got a share of the corporate tickets really irritates me. Mick
The final is a funny one for me, they lose and we can rip the piss out of them and if they win it puts our lot under pressure to do better than to run the club to just survive.

Disco
100% of the reason Portsmouth, Birmingham and Wigan went down was cup success. If you tell me otherwise I will throw SportsDirect mugs at you.

newsted
Well, just BOO! to all you reasonable people. Nah, hope they have a nice day out in the big city and get unceremoniously humped on live TV. It's a funny thing, I really don't have a problem with mackems in normal life, they can be nice, but they tend to have an enormous pile of chips on each shoulder when Newcastle is mentioned, even if it's the city rather than the club. Don't really mind what happens on Sunday, just a bit more magnanimity all round would suit. Gerrin, that's a real word! Magnafuckinimity, hundreds of billions of points I rest my case. Neil
Their fans are just typical small club mentality looking forward to a big day out. The reality, which will come back very quickly in the cold light of day post-match, is that they're a club who can only get 15,000 for a 5th round cup tie against a good Premiership team and 20 odd thousand against Manchester United in a home semi final. They'll be top the Premier League's "most empty seats in a stadium" list every season without fail and nowadays even have to give away free tickets for the derby match to pad the stadium out. Like Wigan and Bradford before them they'll have busloads of grannies and other one-off fans going down for the final but they'll soon be back to the reality of a half empty (on the better days) stadium and a turgid relegation struggle. Because if Newcastle got to a final then the fans and City would not look forward to the day and/or enjoy it? I don't understand how this is a small club mentality? Also we have a 40k plus average for league games? I agree some of the cup attendances have been shite but still... Hey, you've fluked your way to a cup final, good luck, enjoy it. They've thoroughly earned their place in the final. Assume this has already been covered but to suggest it's a fluke is laughable.

Ashely couldn't give the slightest f*** or s*** Honestly, if I stepped back and wasn't geordie, I'd probably want the mackems to win. Good fanbase despite shite team for years. But I am geordie, and I'll be proper gutted if they win it given how much they'll bang on. I can't seem to remember giving a fuck when the smoggies won it though, so maybe it wouldn't be that bad. If only this last bit was true, and it would make the slightest bit of difference to how our club was run, I'd say pass me a red and white scarf for Sunday. As it is a sunderland win would make no difference to how Ashley operates, and would just be something they would taunt us with at every single derby for a very very long time. For many, I imagine the pleasure involved in a trophy win would be derived purely from the sense of one-upmanship over NUFC. For that reason, it's Man City as the better of two evils for me, but if they win it'll be relief more than anything. Even if the game ends 14-0 I don't understand how anyone could get genuine whole-hearted pleasure from laughing at sunderland in our position. We'd love to be going to Wembley, we won't be going for a long time and that is just depressing as fuck.

Ryan_Taylor
Can't see wanting them to win like. Seems a lot of their fans will be more pleased that we didn't win it then the fact they did.

The fact you're taking a lot more "fans" to Wembley than bothered to turn out in Sunderland for the semi against Manchester United and more than twice the number who turned out for your FA Cup 5th round tie does however smack of small club mentality, whether you admit it or not. Everyone knows that Sunderland fans and the sycophantic north east media have a whole catalogue of excuses for your embarrassing attendances but the most widely used one for the FA Cup tie was probably the lamest yet. You were all saving for a big day out in London :-) . Using that kind of mackem logic then Man City and Arsenal fans who sold out to 48,000 and 60,000 respectively on the same day mustn't bother with Cup finals or away trips to Europe etc. Getting to a cup final is a fluke? I must have missed something. I've already agreed that attendances were shite in previous rounds but I still don't get why it's a stick used to beat clubs with. We're shite, we're going nowhere and we've got a manager who is totally and utterly SAFC's bitch. It's all we've got. Your attendances are regularly shite and everyone and his dog knows they would be even worse if you weren't constantly begging people to turn up for free. I don't even know why you argue the point.
