Thought Jörg Albertz was great for some reason too. Probably those free kicks on highlights.

I'm more :okay: because the likes of van Basten, Shearer, Lineker and Gascoigne are cropping up here and mine was Clarky  :lol:

 

My grandad used to prattle on about being his headteacher at Walkergate primary too, which reinforced it a bit.

To elaborate on Klinsmann... just saw him play in a Spurs game (I think it was Notts Forest, maybe in the cup), and I remember being amazed by how elegantly he moved. Think he picked up the ball at the half way line, played a pass into midfield, carried on his run then ended up in the box to volley the goal.

First foreigner was probably Roberto Baggio because of World Cup 94.

 

A tragedy that really affected me, that penalty miss.

 

That was one of those early lasting moments for me.

First real example that life isn't fair, and the hero sometimes doesn't win.
