“A lot of clubs and agents are waiting to see how players fare in the World Cup.

“That will have an influence on the price.

“The World Cup is critical to a number of clubs, including us.”

 Played a blinder with Cabella there then Pards.

Amount of money the club has and all this cunt wants to talk about is the price.

You reckon Pardew did the negotiations with Montpellier himself?

I'd laugh if he has a s*** world cup and his price drops.

He won't even play to be given the chance to have a shit World Cup.

His price isn't going to drop as a result of getting picked for his country so the Montpelier owner has got nothing to lose by telling us to fuck off.

Back page of the Journal: we won't sell the players we don't want on the cheap. I guess trying to buy players with ridiculous fees is alright though.

there has to be a (non-humorous) term for that kind of perverse psychology when it comes to buying/selling - in general that is not just football, when someone is utterly uninterested in a deal unless the other guy is getting completely shafted. Whatever it is, Ashley suffers from it. I have a mate like that - buys nothing unless he's pretty sure the other person is losing money or at best just desperate to break even. Cheap, predatory fuck when it comes to economics. Delightful otherwise
