Load of vague nonsense then that at the end   Five years left and he's one of our "prize assets" yet we'll be looking to get £2m for him, goal.com really showing they know their stuff :mackems:

Goal.com are just as bad as CaughtOffside or any lets make up stories for hits website tbh.

They are utterly clueless.

 Should really be for the Skirge thread that site is so bad

Van Dijk  linked as well.  Ashley probably got excited when Graham Carr told him we were going Dutch...  Probably though we only had to pay for half the player.....

I wish!! I could possibly stomach losing MYM if this guy comes in.

Says 4 to go but only mentions 3 targets  (2 strikers and Cabella.)

Because the 4th is if(when) Debuchy leaves?

Edit: Or are we talking daft things like squad depth?

'The transfer hitlist has been compiled with an acknowledgement that Newcastle were woefully light on offensive talent at the end of the season. The intention is to sign players capable of entertaining who are cheap, scoring goals cheap and getting United fans off their feet again cheap.'

Its a sort of 'carrot on a stick' tactic to entice fans to renew season tickets and buy merchandise etc. Our fans should know by now, that we will be lucky to get 1 or 2 more in before the end of the transfer window.

As if we plan the number of player acquisitions and are committed to seeing it through. They make up the numbers as we go along.

Aye I'm not doubting that, just trying to figure out why Douglas would mention 4 more then only talk about 3

I think we'll sign a striker, we'll sell Debuchy then we'll make do until January. At which time, our spending depends on our position in the league and likelihood of relegation.
