AyeDubbleYoo
We definitely have more of a chance of our signings making an impact now. I'm still negative about the quality/quantity of signings we'll manage though.
KaKa
Getting them in early is so important too, signing people at the end of the window is so rubbish for them and the club. Hope we try to avoid that this time around.

The list of players you mention there all possess these two traits, which enables the team to play off them. That would mean nothing if they were weak and couldn't fend off defenders. They don't need to fend them off if the ball isn't lumped at them from 80 yards. You're clueless. Am I now So you're saying it's not possible to win football matches without the presence of a large striker, regardless of his other abilities? Of course you're clueless. You're asking me a silly question. It's easier to win football matches with footballers with all-round skill packages. Generally, having strikers with strength, the ability to fend off defenders and combine well with their team-mates - will do better. Whether that's Messi or Zlatan. No, no. My point was that having a high quality first touch and sense of awareness was the most important thing about hold up play. You then claimed it was more about being big, strong, and able to fend off defenders. Don't try and twist the narrative so it looks like we're arguing from two sides of the same coin. Xavi has a great first touch and awareness. He couldn't play as a striker with his back to goal. A good first touch is needed for any good footballer. Playing with your back to goal NEEDS strength. Is that hard to understand?

DanK13
Need to get someone through ASAP, I hate how long it takes for us to complete a deal, I would love Austin but can see Dost coming instead, never seen him play, not a bad record by looks of it
KaKa
So apparently Chelsea's interest in Austin is legit. Looking to bring in Falcao and Austin to replace Remy and Drogba. Pretty irritating huh? You betcha.

The College Dropout
I think a good all round striker would help our team's build-up play. It would help get the best out of Perez, Cabella & De Jong who if they hit potential could get us 25 goals a season between them. If the main man can knock another dozen or so we'll have a good season.

Ketsbaia
If we miss out on Austin, I'm taking it much more personally than previous setbacks. It'd confirm just how tarnished we are under Ashley - a former player of Hungerford, Poole and Swindon turns his nose up at being Newcastle #9? In favour of the bench at clubs who dont even need him? Nah, this will hurt.
