Guest Roger Kint
Newcastle update from BBC's Ben Smith: "Newcastle's bid for Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier has stalled and there is no sign that the clubs are prepared to restart talks. At this stage, no other arrivals are expected at St James' Park before tonight's deadline." Thread closed until summer And there it is! Closed for business. James
If Cabaye had stayed and gotten injured tomorrow for the season I'm not sure people would be too bothered about not signing a central midfielder. We needed a striker this window and we got one. This is now a chance for Ben Arfa to try and break into the side which most should see as a positive. Grenier sounds an interesting player but he obviously doesn't want to sign for whatever reason. Fair enough. If we now go and invest in the summer I won't complain. alexf
Wish Sky or someone would show this. It's amazing we're doing as well as we are considering how the vast the difference is in net spend between us and everyone else.

Noodles
It's becoming ever more clear that he sees us as just another extension of Sports Direct, only there to make profit It's by far and wide the most depressing time to be a fan of Newcastle at the moment, every other club spent the TV revenue, did we? Did we fuck. Every other club would be scouring the globe looking for a replacement to the world class midfielder we just lost, are we? Are we fuck. De Jong/Remy will both leave when their respective loans are up and we'll be worse off than the start of the season. I wasn't going out tonight but I sure as shite am now.
