The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Silva leaves Fulham

Recommended Posts

Can’t wait for that to turn to shit, will take under 12 months. Will start well, will see a real improvement from lots of players then the mercenary effect will resurface and Alonso will start to get frustrated about the fact he has to make a lot of decisions under the influence of a bunch of execs. The form will start to drop off and there’ll be rumours of a rift starting to form between Alonso’s idea for the role and BlueCo’s plans for the club. He’ll lose his job and they’ll bring in John Terry, who will get them relegated but the fans will be absolutely delighted because he’s Reform, through and through

I think he’ll be a good fit for Chelsea. I think they’ve learned from mistakes. I’m not sure what they’re spending power is now (I’m sure it’ll be vast still) but they need some genuine world class players if they want to challenge.

Biggest issue I have with this is I'm the same age as him. Not sure how that happened.

Coming for Wor Eddie now

They’re not.

Top clubs look for adaptability, tactical flexibility, elite in-game management and evolution over time. Howe looks increasingly like a manager completely wedded to one system, one type of player, and one way of playing.

Any initial reactions from the red scousers?

Crying and/or burning Alonso effigies in the streets.

I can't fathom why any half decent manager with anything about them would touch chelsea with a 10ft barge pole personally... apart from an absolutely obscene amount of money (but even then, is it really worth the reputational damage?). I mean, I'm glad he's not gone to Liverpool, but still.
