Cardiff City 1 - 2 Newcastle United 05/10/13 - Post-match reaction from page 39

Great win and a brilliant first half. Can't really blame Pardew for the second half as they created nothing before the mistake that led to the goal and we started the half alright. The goal was always going to lift the crowd and the players but we still handled them well and their only chances were from Mutch who looked good. Despite being under the pressure for the last 30 minutes we were still creating chances too which was a big positive.

Cabaye had one of his best games for us and was everywhere. Remy of course was great and Tiote had his best game in ages. Jonas is always going to be a useful sub in a game like this and I was positively surprised with Pardew for the HBA sub, which was still maybe 15 minutes too late.

It's nice to win. :)

Cardiff will be in the mix at the bottom imo, not enough goals over a season in them.

Got their summer signing fella to come in still like but aye I agree, they're very one paced too.

They're a bit like us, dont cross it, dont really build it up that well, look like they need a bit of magic (Mutch second half).

Ah i see why, Malky, Pardew's padawan learner

This is exactly what I thought watching them.

Then it dawned on me, we are fucked if Remy gets injured for any amount of time.

Aye, but i think we will buy a striker in January, which will help.

I hope so mate.

Striker has become essential again due to Cisse's poor form, I'm not sure if you'd want to take Remy off the left side given the level of his performances there.

Sat too deep second half, had chances to kill them off on the break but the pressing from our lot dropped, and we just sat back and invited pressure. A decent team would have got a point out of the second half. Poor tactics, needed Anita on for ball retention, Sissoko and Tiote a liability in the middle in that kind of setup.

Looked shagged second half. Had a good chance to put the game to bed. Lacking confidence.

Cabaye on the other hand was class- What happened with his freekick? Looked away then saw it rattle back off the post

Was Robert-esque, absolutely loved it. Bastards only showed one replay tho.

Two games left side and 4 goals, it would be a bit daft to move Remy now imo. Bring another striker in, Cisse either plays better or not at all.

Cardiff fans are most unpleasant. Just been told to fuck off by various people on this train.

Put your willy away then.

Back in for Gomis come January?

Said before the game the selection would be justified if we won. We won.

Good performance at a ground that City were defeated on and a valuable 3 points.

Obviously not the result those desperate to see Pardew sacked wanted, but I'm delighted and can go ahead and enjoy the rest of my weekend.

Aye could be, we do seem to chase who we really want. He would suit us massively as well.
