Guest Roger Kint
I think we've had a rotten December in every season Pardew has been our manager. Will be interesting to see whether he can ever master fixture congestion. Were his Decembers at previous clubs balls too? Incredibly we also had poor Decembers before Pardew too Probably our best month in the relegation season with wins over Portsmouth and Spurs. Well thats settled then if our only other season in football was a success On a serious note i remember that 'best month' included 1-5 at home to Liverpool. Incredibly we also had poor Decembers before Pardew too 18 December 2001 [the one date I remember uncannily well in respect of football ] Going to assume that was the game we needed to win by 2 to go top and won 3-1 at Arsenal? Great game that, we all had lumped on that score at about 66/1 Funniest thing about that result, was Uri Geller claiming the credit for our win, afterwards. Happy Face
http://i40.tinypic.com/2re6zq1.jpg Took us to the end of January to accrue this many points last season. End of December in 10/11. Last time we had this many points this soon (apart from Pards' previous 5th place) was 01/02.

And what do the stats say after that?

Don't put your house on 5th.

Guest icemanblue
Is it funny, like? I appreciate that I'm probably on the wrong 'side', to fully appreciate it. It's going right by me, anyway.
Happy Face
Any teams been relegated after having this points tally at this stage of the season HP? Nah. Current Premier leagure era (20 teams) I think the best point total at this stage for a relegated team is 17 points for Burnley in 09/10. They were sat in 11th having won 5 out of 14, but they only won 3 more games all season. Prior to that, when the league was bigger Palace were 10th with 19 points after 14 games and still got relegated in 1995.

TRon
Any teams been relegated after having this points tally at this stage of the season HP? Great question. Sums up the unrealistic Geordie expectations of success nicely that one.
