It will be really interesting to see Amorim fight the fight protecting his way and style of play vs. media asking him every bloody week if he will chop and change it.

Don’t know what the right answer is though. I felt like Howe moved us to a 4-3-3 very quickly from w/e nonsense Bruce had us playing…but played solid defense > counter attacking football with some elements of pressing. Then that summer went to a high octane, high press style we know and love today. My armchair football manager mind says you use a very simple system for this Man Utd team and consolidate defensively and slowly morph to the system he wants them playing? But the fuck do i know.

Would we take any of their mob that had potential and could well be improved if they were on offer in their sell off sales.

No. None of them.

That's not because I don't think any of them would improve us, they surely would. But fuck them. They're in a PSR hole, let them rot there. It's great to see and we shouldn't be thinking about helping them.

Remember how they were over Lingard? They can eat shit. There's plenty of good players elsewhere.

Imagine being the Man Utd manager and admitting that relegation is a possibility :explode:

What's the alternative? Be like Ten Hag and say we won the passing even though we got thumped? Players need a boot up the hole. The ones who continue to work are the ones who will be kept.

Onana is fucking dung. I'd swap for Pope no problem.

Any time he has a decent run of form he regresses and starts throwing the ball into the net.

Still? I thought after a dreadful start he picked up and played well for you last year. I remember his passing into midfield being a bit of a bugger to play against at your place .

He did pick up and started playing well, but he's had another few horror shows this season. The goal he conceded against Forest was shocking and Wolves scored straight from a corner against him as well. Just weak as piss.

He can pass like, I'm not going to take that away from him. He's just a fat midfielder.

He's a better player than pope, pop thr better keeper, but he's not a big enough leap in quality to change.

He's another one swallowed up by the pressure of the club, somewhere else and he's less prone to error Imo.

Maybe something in between? The players will down tools and see him out the door if he doesn't get them on side, especially if they are against the formation change. Like it or not he has to get this group of players working until probably the summer where big changes can take place.

Does he have more legs than Casimero? How good's your backup keeper?

There's so much more wrong than just Onana, this is just one opinion, but, I just feel you need to do a complete reset, stop allowing new managers to come in with influence from their previous roles, ETH signing the likes of Martinez and Antony for a combined fee of 150m is where its going wrong.

I can see this happening again with Amorim, perhaps overpaying for Sporting players, and although Sporting have some quality, it's not always the answer for a player to uproot for absolute fortunes and hit the ground running at a new club.

I personally think you need to be doing what we're doing, identifying young class English players, like Gordon, Hall, Livramento, all three have now become England International players,we have the likes of Sanusi, Harrison, Lewis Miley coming through, we're trying to hoover up talent, something you lot used to have a blueprint for under Sir Alex.

You'd hope Wilcox, will be tasked with this type of responsibility, but judging from what you lot always seem to do is just splash money aimlessly, and want immediate fixes with players who will automatically go in and start, I think its time to build slowly, (reset) a core young English group, you have one with Mainoo, but while things are as bad as they are, these players like him could want out.

It is going to cost so much to turn this all round. They have exactly the wrong players, who cost hundreds of millions, who are shite and won't command any decent fees. Meanwhile, every club will have them over a barrel to replace them, as they know they are desperate and need very specific players for his formation.

Sorry but he seems like a dead man walking already. This guy's tactical inflexibility is being plastered all over the place and he seems to have 1 way to play, so teams will just prepare and find a way through them. Its basically already happened.

Its remarkable really. He'll get all his players in, they'll still suck and he'll get binned. Then they are, once again, stuck with loads of unsuitable players.
