We knew this would be the case though didn't we? Has Amorim not made it perfectly clear all along that his system will take time to implement. He said he won't go back and play a pragmatic system because in a year we'll just be in the same situation.

People have talked about "open heart surgery" for a while. Is this not the way? The same players have got managers sacked over and over again.

Rashford could get another manager sacked by not even playing. So powerful.

Saying it’s going to take while and be painful, then losing loads, will only last so long for Amorim. Has to show improvements as I doubt he got the job by saying “I will need to spend £100m+”. So if he starts to ask for players because the ones can’t work in his system, why did the club hire him?

Feels like club knew ETH was a busted flush, had to take the L, and just went with the manager who’s got the biggest rep and willing to join mid season. I don’t think Man Utd hierarchy have thought anything longer term.

Board is a mess from top to bottom. Apparently they were all set to sack ETH but he won the FA Cup and they decided on the basis of that ONE GAME, he could stay. He stayed and did even more damage in the summer.

I can never believe how average the Man Utd line-ups are considering they constantly are signing expensive folk. Its just full of mid-table crap. Their position isn't really far off the level of their team, but the expectations are based on history of course.

There's no pressure on Amorim, which is important to note. We trust him and want him to do his thing.

The players are in bother mind. Old Trafford will not be nice if Monday goes as expected.

Howe turned Newcastle from the 2nd worst team in the league to the 5th best in 7 months. The pressure will be on Amorim to do similar.

I think there is a significant difference here however, we had a bad team, but we liked and supported our players which allowed for many to be rehabilitated.

As alluded to by Froggy in your quoted post, the Man Utd players have lost the fan base.

If Wolves and one of Leicester or Ipswich can grind out some results then Man Utd could get relegated

Can’t believe we are even discussing Man U getting relegated, they will be fine.

Feel free to quote this in the event of them getting relegated as I’ll be so happy I won’t give a toss :aww:

They’re lucky for how tripe the few bottom bottom teams are.

Quite fun how fickle fans are mind.

A few games ago half the board were Howe out. Now he's God again and we're getting relegated because we're 7 points behind you.

Can't wait to win the Europa League and knock you out of the Champions League when you finish above us again. ;)

Can’t compare Amorim to Howe.  We had such a positive atmosphere we just needed 1 thing to fall in our favour.

ETH has been the worst Man U manager of the lot.  And I thought Rangnick was a poor appointment too. They’ve signed a lot of garbage under those managers.

Ragnick was supposed to manage them short term to get a full understanding of the internal issues with the squad, before then taking up a consultancy role to restructure things from the ground up.

Don't think they even signed any players under him. Certainly not the types he was recommending to bring in.

Since when did a DOF need to manage and coach the team to get a full understanding of the internal issues?

The whole thing was just weird.

Froggy was raving about EtH at the time. Best coach out there, etc. Started to go wrong and it’s all the Glazers fault (he wouldn’t know what a bad owner is tbh…).

Then it was the players, Sancho, etc.

Just hope Amorim doesn’t let his spell at Manu adversely effect the rest of his career.

Like Amad, Garnacho, Hojlund, Yoro etc.

He needs to stop being asked about how difficult it is. He keeps giving the same answers.

For every one of them you have bought, there is a Casemiro, Weghorst, Evans, Dubravka, Butland, Erikson, Varane, Ronaldo, Heaton, Cavani, Ighalo, and Lee Grant.

Since they asked him to do it. We've seen other interim appointments till the end of the season.

Based on what he had to say at the end of it, it looked like a great call, had they bothered to follow up with his recommendations and keep him on to restructure the club.

It seemed to give him a greater insight to all of the issues they had internally with the players. And every problem he raised is still in place there up till now!
