Has anyone ever fallen from grace as much as Torres?

Every well paid Brazilian ever.

This was easily my initial thought, but then again not all paid Brazilians were even good at some point.

Obviously not to the scale of Torres, but you forget how rapidly Robert fell from grace. Absolute goal/assist machine May 2004, looked a seriously quality player... two years later... barely getting a game for relegation-threatened Pompey then pretty much total obscurity afterwards. He couldn't even get pitch time at Derby in that season they finished with record low points.

Aside from Rooney, I don't agree with that. His constant rhetoric has always been that he wants players to 'express themselves'

Is who I am assuming Oldtype is talking about.

Classic case of a troubled talent? Similar to Ben Arfa, not managed in the right way and he's a liability.

Shouldn't have commented, it's only made me consider how good Ben Arfa would have been under Sir Bobby...

Robert had just turned 30 when he left us. His career was always going to naturally decline.

Damien Duff on the other hand...signed at 26/27 and was a shadow of who he was at Blackburn & Chelsea.

He's baaaaaaack.

I'm not usually one to complain about footballers haircuts, but Torres blatantly has the worst hair in the game.

Get those orthopedic shoes at the ready, because you're about to stand corrected.

Michael Johnson

Yoan Gouffran

Afonso Alves

Francis Jeffers

Aaron Spear

I'm an expert in falls-from-grace. Absolutely love it when players enter the wonderful world of international obscurity.

 Great shout

Adriano, World class player to not wanted over night

Just signed for Le Havre apparently for 6 months. I'll give it 2 months before he decides to do other stuff.

Like selling motorbikes to drug lords.

Never forget him on PES though. Absolute winner on there.

Aye, the guy that did the stats was an Inter fan though, so he went massively overboard with the Inter players. Martins was 99 pace and 99 acceleration.

I remember even on PES 2008, former Inter players Emre and Martins were ridiculously overrated in the Newcastle team.

The best team on that game was Nigeria, they were fucking incredible. I used to play 4-2-4 just so I could fit Martins, Kanu, Yakubu and Uche in the side because they were all far too good to leave out.

Ronaldinho was actually good at Milan, especially in his second season. Ridicilous that he didn't go to South Africa.

He really wasn't man. Trust me, he was a point machine but he had changed his game far too much and was slowing down play too much for Dunga's tactics. However I do agree that he, Ganso and Neymar should've gone. Those three would've brought something needed when going bad. Problem in 2010 was fact we didn't have one player off the bench that could make a difference. A bit like this year. Not one offensive player that could come off the bench and change the game.
