Yeah it makes absolutely no sense. Why not spunk all that cash on a proven goalscorer like Cavani or Lacazette? From what i've heard Martial is a much bigger talent than Lacazette. Even then , tough, we know how the system works, the bloke calling the shots thought it wasn't enough and Berahino can abide by his contract. Like he would expect the club to do if he turned out to be crap. Think Lique, Smith etc, Contracts are a double edged sword but many players want it all one way. Good, I'd like WBA to be bought up and put say to Berahino "Fuck you, your in the stiffs till your contract is up" I've had this stae of thinking since Pierre Van Hooijdonk. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if this £5m plus instalments & add-ons is exactly what they offered us for Ayoze which is why we told them to fuck off.
