We are apparently in advanced talks to sign 17-year old Halilovic. Never heard if him, is he any good?

He was linked with Spurs a while back, I'm sure they were close to agreeing a deal for him. Apparently 'the new Modric'.

Ok, I don't usually give much credence to these transfer rumours, but this one has been picked up by several Spanish media so might have some traction to it.

Not sure if you can see these threads, but here's us talking about him:

If you look at the dates, you can see that we've been talking for two years. At one point it looked like we might have a deal sewn up, but rumour is that his Dad was playing hardball and asking for loads of stuff for the family (accommodation in England, money, schooling etc etc). There was a thinking that he might use us as a stepping stone (:anguish:) but maybe the family have decided to cut out the middle man.

What a b******, asking for money, accomodation and education.

 It was for loads of the family IIRC. Can't remember the details - I wasn't having a go at the guy, just pointing out that his demands were supposedly a stumbling block.

Halilovic is a big big talent but I'm not sure this is the right move for him or barca. His old man should've given him at least another season in Dinamo.

Zagreb has a good setup here for young talent and he's only just started featuring regularly for the first team. In comparison, Kovacic had a lot more(was a starter for a season and a half) 1st team experience before moving to Inter and Modric did an extra mile with Dinamo (could've moved earlier but *chose* to stay an extra season). *Probably had to do more with Dinamo's chairman than anything else but that's another tale.*

As for his playstyle, wouldn't compare him to Modric (much more of a modern midfielder); instead he's got that no10 vibe around him. Has a brilliant left leg (the right one is there for balancing purpose only tbf), good eye for a pass and a decent shot in him for a 17y old. Seen some footage of him scoring some belters in Dinamo's youth matches. Likes to dribble but mostly just gets pushed off the ball; has to do with him being featherweight material. Hope I'm wrong but I can see his ass being dragged off on to loans for a couple of years before he makes any kind of impact at barca.

Thanks for these links, had to register to a Spurs forum but I could read them

At the very least he seems like he has some potential to him, it's been long since we've signed young players with potential instead of waiting until they are proven and expensive. It's something I'd like to see us doing more often.

Adrian Ramos to Dortmund nearly completed. Should be a good signing, been banging them in for Hertha this season

Decent player. They do very shrewd signings. Would love to see if they can get Kagawa back. Kagawa, Mkhytarian and Reus behind Ramos with PEA and Kuba off the bench would be a killer.

That young Serbian kid they signed in January is meant to be good as well isn't he?

Looks like Torres will be headed  to Inter as well.

Can't wrap my head around why they're getting washed up, over the hill players from PL for a team needing a rebuild. It's the last thing they should do, and instead target young hungry players. That summer of 2009 apart, Inter never fail to amaze in the market. They have sold so many top top players of the years (either from their academy or at young age) and bought journey men rubbish to replace them. Thought they may be a change of direction with sacking of Branca, but it appears not.
