A lad who plays poker at my local works for Move Residential on the Wirral, he said that Naby Keita's agent has been on the phone organising property viewings. Looks like as long as Barca stump up for Coutinho that Liverpool will definitely sign up Keita (and I suppose Van Dijk too), unless they're looking at just signing him regardless of what happens.

Also heard that his odds have went down from 8/1 to 5/2 for him to join Liverpool too. Haven't bothered checking any of this myself though.

Surely has a point about transfers, Spurs are a couple of top quality signings away from being arguably the best team in the league, but it will be two summer windows in a row where they have barely done a thing, except being shafted by us over Sissoko.

They won't get closer to the title than the last 2 seasons for a while now imo. All very well saying they're young and will improve but with the new stadium and stuff they can't invest enough to maintain it, and will lose a first teamer or two each summer, and replacing them eventually will take its toll.

Need to win something this season if they hope to build this team further imo.

As Spurs - how do you improve on the first team?

Some creative help for Eriksen and a pacy forward of the level of someone like Sanchez, trouble is the players that would improve them are highly unlikely to want to join them.

This is my point. Barkley can improve squad depth but that's about it. Can't think of anyone they could really sign, people rate that Seri fella highly.

Spurs need a high quality version of Remy. Someone who'd be a regular to start on one of the flanks but can start as a centre-forward if Kane's out or needs rested. Fuck knows who that might be like.

And they would finished 5th max, it's not about how many goals you score but when you score them. Kane's importance to Spurs is far more than just the number he puts in the stats column.

That's kinda the point though. There isn't another "Kane" out there ready to just sit on the bench.

It sort of is about how many goals you score as well though

Not really. Aguero scored 20 in 31 last year which numbers wise is a pretty good season by most peoples standards, but none of it actually mattered and was probably one of his worse seasons performance wise.

Son probably would score 20+ goals for Spurs if Kane was out the whole season, but what would it mean for Spurs overall success as a team? probably not that much tbh.
