The thing that perplexes me is the amount of fans we have who buy this nonsense hook, line and sinker. Thank fuck I wasn't stupid enough to buy a ticket for Saturday's likely farce.

What is anyone buying?

That there's an intention from club's hierarchy to do anything other than make money out of the club.

Hmm, right, I don't know if anyone believes that, or at least not to any great extent. I certainly don't. But the fact is we have made some signings, and some good ones.

The only thing that occured to me earlier that genuinely might make this more possible is that we may have insisted megarich PSG pay us up front for Cabaye. So we might be feeling a bit more confident about spending.

Nah.

The minimum required to keep us in the league and make decent margins from player sales.

Yeap, they aren't exactly going to make bad signings or they'd might have to reinvest some of the cash the club makes.

The lad has to be careful not to ruin his Lyon career if this does not happen but the only word that stands out in his quotes is "nearly" its not a no its a it could happen.

I find it very refreshing to see a young player behave in the right way.

This will run until 11pm Friday

It'll run to Sunday

Whoops

Nah.

Why strengthen a team not in immediate danger when you could just deposit £20m into the bank though? Crackers.

 so obvious

Some will still defend it as genuinely trying though.

Not me, trying is not the issue. Either we make signings or we don't.

The very fact that so few fans care about 'trying' makes the made-up bids thing so ridiculous in the first place.

It's not that the bid is made up. The bid is purposely low, they know Lyon wont accept it but they throw it in anyway.

How many times do you need to see this shit to finally accept it for what it is.

Tbf to Ian I'm not sure why he's having to defend himself here

He agrees.

I dont think they see us as a cash cow we simply don't make enough player sales or any other large income other than TV money. Its simply the fact we are being run on a shoe string budget similar to a club that is worrying about over spending incase they go down, we are simply now stuck in limbo. The catch 22 is you need constant investment either youth system creating first teamers every few seasons or regular good level senior players to replace those who are long term injury worries, getting on, not suiting the system or team etc  in order to progress. Spending little to nothing means nothing happens and there is little chance things will happen.

As I have seen a few people say why go to games and support the club if the ambition per season is survival.

All I know is that sometimes we meet a selling club's valuation and sometimes we don't. That's all you know as well. The rest is speculation.

In my mind the fact that we enter into transfer negotiations with the aim of seeing them fail is just ludicrous. For all sorts of reasons. I just can't believe it happens.
