BlueStar
Also, is it just me who thought Chambers has been shite so far for Arsenal? Or is it ultimately irrelevant how good he is - he plays for Arsenal! That's pretty much it, isn't it. Zaha looked a good prospect at Palace, playing week in, week out and he never got a sniff. As soon as it looked like he was going to go and warm the bench at Man U he got called up. Same with Colback, never would have got in the team at Sunderland, as soon as he moves on to bigger and better things he's in the squad. Playing for a big club definitely helps your chances compared to players of a similar ability at small clubs. Wonder if this will get me on RTG. Guest Roger Kint
Quick question, how in the world did Roy avoid the sack after the WC? FA have adopted Mike Ashleys distain for cups. Priority is the qualifying league

Ste
I think the FA are only sticking with Hodgson because the other options are so limited. He had a decent Euro 2012, he'll do for the 2016 tournament. That'll be their mindset. To be fair, we could have Guardiola or Mourinho and still underwhelm. Spider Jerusalem
Hmm, I'm starting to believe that we're not going to win Euro 16 and World Cup 2018 after all now.

He had a decent Euro 2012, he'll do for the 2016 tournament. That'll be their mindset. He was responsible for our worst performance at a World Cup since 1958. There's no reason whatsoever for him to be kept in a job. To be fair, we could have Guardiola or Mourinho and still underwhelm. No we wouldn't. Village Idiot
I think the FA see Roy as a transitional manager to pilot the team while a younger generation of players takes over. It's better to let him take the heat in the interim and then get a new manager.
Guest Roger Kint
Whether he deserves it or not or will even get on the pitch or not its more than worth it for the outbreak of bitterness and anger from mackems. Unbelievable
“The beauty is that it depends on the opposition, you can pencil him (Jack Colback) in to do a number of roles. “If you are the dominant force then he might take a more defensive position because his passing range is fantastic, a bit like Yohan Cabaye’s. “He can also carry a threat when teams are more assertive – for us we can offer him a more forward role where he can use his energy. “He has got just a great all round ability – I am not sure where England will have plans for him but what I do know, is number four or number either, he can do either of those quite comfortably.” “He is our player but of course six months ago he was at Sunderland so they have to take some credit as well…”

r0cafella
Remember loads saying he wasn't Cabaye's replacement tbh I also remember this. I honestly knew it from day one. It was obvious. Massive downgrade despite colback being better than I initially gave him credit for I'm not convinced at all. He passes the ball sideways and makes the odd tackle. Nothing to wank over.
